NEW YORK– Join us as we celebrate 10 years of serving the people and honor the work of modern day Gabrielas.  This will be an evening of cultural performances, food, music, dance and so much more.  Hear first hand from Gabriela NY members of their recent experience on exposure trips to the Philippines.  Uncover the 10 year story of struggle and triumph of Gabriela New York told by founding members.  Read the works of Filipina writers and artists as we debut our second edition of LAKAS.

Who: Speakers include representatives of GABRIELA New York. Red and El of Anakbayan New York will spin when the doors open at 6PM. Cultural performances include MC Baka, Stefa y Mowri, Gabriela New York Cultural Committee and more.


For a decade, GABRIELA New York (formerly known as Filipinas for Rights and Empowerment) has contributed to the local and international revolutionary tide through education of current political issues, direct action and campaigns. GABRIELA NY has taken part and launched several ongoing campaigns aimed at eradicating inujustice as arousing, organizing and mobilizing local communities.
