October 13, 2018 Information Clearing House   Women’s March on the Pentagon (WMOP) is excited to announce we are ready and rarin’ to go for our long anticipated march and rally at ground-zero for US imperialism.

“We envisioned this principled non-partisan march on the bi-partisan war machine at the beginning of this year. Disclaimer: This is NOT a pink-pussy-hatted event to only oppose Trump and Get Out the Vote for the treacherous and warmongering Democrats (or Republicans): This is a principled non-partisan march on the bi-partisan US war machine.

Why an anti-war WOMEN’S march? That’s divisive. What about an anti-war PEOPLE’S march? If we allow ourselves to be compartmentalized and segmented, we just follow the playbook of divide-and-conquer. Anti-war marches with the sole agenda of ending an illegal war worked before–no gender bar necessary. If it ain’t broke, why fix it? We should object as moral human beings to war. That’s all the definition we need.

The Womwen’s March on the Pentagon came out of a strong response of the big Women’s March in Washington DC’s failure to address wars and militarism. Indeed, they were hostile to the idea of opposing the never-ending wars.

The Women’s March on the Pentagon has always invited and encouraged men to participate. There will be male speakers. Men are helping to organize it and serve on their advisory board. The point is to show that many women oppose war, unlike the partisan Women’s March on DC that was silent on war because it was tied to the Democratic Party.
