Join us for a discussion with commons-expert David Bollier on the intertwined social, economic and self-governance systems that could make a commons-centered economy the next system.

Director of the Reinventing the Commons Program at the Schumacher Center for a New Economics, David Bollier is an author, activist, consultant and leading expert on the economics, politics and culture of the commons. He has written, co-authored or co-edited twelve books starting with Silent Theft: The Private Plunder of Our Commons Wealth (2002), a far-ranging survey of market enclosures of shared resources, from public lands and the airwaves to creativity and knowledge.

In 2016, the Next System Project published his “Commoning as a Transformative Social Paradigm” as part of our New Systems series. His work on the commons takes many forms, organizing workshops and conferences, serving an expert witness for the “design commons” in trademark lawsuits and producing educational films.
