It Is Time We Cast All Medals Into Spearheads Of Revolution!

Pia Klemp, the German boat captain who faces a long and costly trial in Italy for charges targeting her humanitarian efforts on behalf of refugees, has rejected a humanitarian award from the mayor of France. Klemp faces up to 20 years in prison for years of work with the civilian lifeboat “Iuventa” that saved at least 1,000 lives of migrants. ON her Facebook page in response the award she wrote:

Paris, I love you. I love you for the free and solidarian people that live in you. Fighting for their freedom every day, standing shoulder to shoulder, distributing blankets, friendship and solidarity. I love you for those who are sharing their homes, love and struggles everyday – regardless of their nationality, regardless if they have papers or not.

Mrs. Hidalgo, you want to get my medal for my solidarian action in the Mediterranean Sea, because our crews work to rescue migrants from difficult conditions on a daily basis. At the same time your police are stealing blankets from people that you force to live on the streets, while you raid protests and criminalize people who are standing up for migrants and asylum seekers. You want to give me a medal for actions that you fight in your own ramparts. I am sure you will be surprised that I decline the Grand Vermeil medal.

Paris, I’m not a humanitarian. I am not there to ‘help’. I stand with you in solidarity. We do not need medals. We do not need who is a ‘hero’ and who is ‘illegal’. In fact they are in no position to make this call, because we are all equal.
What we need is freedom and rights. It is time we call hypocrite honoring and filling the void with social justice. It is time we cast all medals into spearheads of revolution!

Documents and housing for all!
Freedom of movement and residence!

The most “revolutionary” act this brave woman can possibly enact is contraception, and the same is true for the rest of us who truly care about the survival of our species and the biosphere. Too many humans are consuming too many natural resources and producing too much pollution, as well as 230,000 new copies of ourselves daily (net). Stress R Us

What she is doing is amazing. Don’t criticize her because she’s “only” saving lives!! Are you doing as much for humanity as she is?

I saved 25,000 lives during a 42 year medical career. And you? However, the self-serving “heroic” actions of this “brave” ship’s captain is only encouraging more illegal emigration and selfish reproduction on the part of parents whose only interest is to send their over-supply of children off to wealthy EU countries IN ORDER TO GET WORK AND SEND MONEY HOME.

You really are clueless on this subject. The same dynamic is destabilizing EU nations and the US with an oversupply of illegal immigrants, except the human workhorses are from Central America in the US case. WAKE THE HELL UP! This ship’s captain is only making herself feel good and making the plight of these unwanted children and refugees worse. “Are you doing as much for humanity as she is?” I certainly hope not.

Saving people’s lives is encouraging immigration? That’s ridiculous. I also had a medical career–being a physician is about saving lives any way you can. You obviously feel differently. Immigrants are not worth saving? I find that repellant. End of discussion.

Some minds are just so tightly closed as to never see the light. Good luck with that. End of the human species and, if you are a good representative, good riddance.
