“Fight 250 Years of Exploitation, Plunder, and Terror!”
United States – Hundreds of activists and community members across the country refuse to take part in celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States, “America 250,” and instead will hold mass actions and protests in major cities to denounce Trump and the violent legacy that the U.S. and Trump continues today. This violent legacy is reflected in the 60,000 migrants locked up in detention centers, a budget allocating $85 billion to ICE and upwards of $1.15 trillion for military spending towards escalating wars, and initiating agreements like the most recent Pax Silica agreement, to solidify its global supply chain and US interests for computing and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Meanwhile his administration has been slashing trillions of dollars in public services like reproductive healthcare, SNAP benefits, and education.
The International League of Peoples’ Struggles US (ILPS-US) has called for a National Week of Action starting Saturday June 27th and culminating on Saturday July 4th. This week of action brings together community organizations to hold mass protests and actions opposing US-led war and plunder by targeting Trump and the companies and institutions profiting off war and the plunder of the Global South that upholds US imperialist domination. Some featured cities where actions will take place include Washington DC, New York City, Philadelphia, San Diego, Portland, and Tacoma, with targets including US Congress, Hanwha, and Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma.
