The Trump regime will host NATO’s 70th anniversary celebrations in Washington on April 4, the day Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968. “We see this as a grotesque desecration of the legacy of Dr. King, who opposed wars and militarism,” said Netfa Freemanof the Black Alliance for Peace, which will gather at the Plymouth Congregational Church, in Washington, on April 4 to say “No” to U.S. wars.

It seems like it is getting more difficult to keep a remembrance of Dr. King that was actual rather than the sanitized version image politicians and the mainstream press prefer to give him. How one is remembered doesn’t necessarily depend on the person remembered but by those that choose to form an image that serves them. Fifty years after their death how will George Bush, Barack Obama and Don Trump be remembered? Won’t the murder of millions in the Middle East be forgotten and replaced with descriptions that are more suited to the times and political means? We can remember the truth by quoting the deceased not by painting a new picture.
