Multiple peace groups are calling for national days of action to stop the war in Syria.
The United National Antiwar Coalition has called for national actions stating:
UNAC calls for putting pressure on Congress from now until the vote. This includes organizing meetings with members of Congress, call-ins, sit-ins, letters, media outreach, petitions, etc. Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard: 1-202-224-3121. Ask for your representative. Leave a message: VOTE NO TO WAR ON SYRIA!
In addition, we call for mass, united protest actions everywhere on Saturday, September 7. These include demonstrations in NYC at Times Sq., Washington, DC, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, Atlanta and many other places, as well as a demonstration in LA on Monday, September 9 when Obama addresses the AFL-CIO convention. We endorse the call by the Syrian American Forum for a mobilization in Washington on Monday, September 9, led by Syrian Americans opposed to military intervention. We strongly encourage participation in all protest actions in Washington, DC, the seat of power, starting on Saturday and all next week.
The ANSWER Coalition has called for days of action in Washington, DC. Below is their coal to action:

Time is of the essence. We have been in the streets all over the country. The opposition to a new war is everywhere. This forced the administration to step back from imminent bombings.
But the danger also exists for an even larger war against Syria. On Sept. 3, Democrats and Republicans in the the Senate Foreign Relations Committee came to an agreement that opens the door to 90 days of bombing.
Now is the time for the people to step up pressure on Congress and demand that they vote NO to any resolution authorizing a military attack on Syria.
On Saturday, September 7, people are descending on Washington, D.C., for a major demonstration that will assemble at the White House at 12 Noon and then march on the Capitol Building as Congress returns to and prepares to vote. This demonstration is endorsed by the ANSWER Coalition, CODEPINK, UNAC and many other organizations. If you or your organization would like to be an endorser of theSept. 7 demonstration, emailvotenowaronsyria@yahoo.com.
Then on Monday, September 9, the Syrian American Forum is organizing a demonstration at the White House from 10 am to 12 Noon, followed by a march to the Capitol Building. This will be the first day that Congress is back in session.
Those who can will stay over in Washington for daily demonstrations, and to maintain a round-the-clock visible anti-war presence at the U.S. Capitol building as Congress meets to take up and vote on the resolution.
You can also send an email letter right now to your elected representatives in Congress demanding that they vote NO on the Syria war resolution. If you already sent a letter, you can use this link to forward this email to your friends asking them to also send letters.
