Board of Peace

What’s New In Trump’s ‘Board Of Peace’ For Gaza

One month after Washington had announced the launch of phase two of the US-brokered Gaza ceasefire deal, developments regarding Trump’s “Board of Peace”, which is supposed to administer the besieged enclave in the post-war era, are still unfolding. The new developments revolve around three major pivots, including a pledge of USD 17 billion for rebuilding the war-ravaged territory, exploring the creation of a new digital currency to boost its economy, and the commitment of five countries to join the so-called International Stabilization Force (ISF).

‘Board Of Peace’ Debut Sparks Fears For Gaza’s Future

The first official "Board of Peace" meeting for Gaza on Thursday drew mixed reactions online, after several announcements and policy signals prompted frustration across social media. In Washington, DC, US President Donald Trump convened the inaugural session of his proposed Board of Peace for Gaza, an initiative framed within the 20-point ceasefire plan that took effect on 10 October and was later ratified in Davos, Switzerland, on 22 January. Trump is set to serve as the board’s chairman for life. During the meeting at the newly renamed Donald J Trump Institute for Peace, several pledges and policy directions were outlined, including a reported $7bn commitment from nine countries towards relief efforts in Gaza.

Palestinian Resistance And The Trap Of Trump’s ‘Board Of Peace’

The first meeting of Trump’s so-called “Board of Peace” is scheduled for later this week. Palestinian resistance factions face a defining predicament in how to respond: reject the Board outright and risk annihilation and the stalling of reconstruction, or engage with it and risk the slow erosion of their nature as resistance organizations. Although it has been billed as a postwar administrative mechanism, the Board’s ultimate goal is to reorganize Palestinian political life in Gaza — under direct colonial oversight — into a permanent state of political submission.

European Union Leaders Condemn Trump’s Gaza ‘Board Of Peace’

European leaders criticised US President Donald Trump’s Gaza “Board of Peace” for bypassing the UN mandate that supported its creation on Friday. At the Munich Security Conference, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, accused Trump of using the Board of Peace as a personal vehicle. Trump unveiled the initiative at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland last month. The board includes nearly all major Middle Eastern countries as members, including Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Pakistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Indonesia are also members.

The US Plan For Gaza Has Nothing In It For Palestinians

The latest iteration of the future U.S. plan for Gaza was revealed last week by U.S. President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, at the inaugural ceremony of the so-called “Board of Peace,” which is tasked with overseeing the reconstruction and administration of the Strip. Kushner’s presentation included a map of what Gaza would look like after reconstruction, including industrial zones, residential blocks, and tourism beaches. The plan advertises a new Rafah and a new Gaza City, completely separate from one another. Meanwhile, the edges of the Strip — which once served as Gaza’s farmland and bread basket — would now be home to industrial complexes.

The Chris Hedges Report: Is The ‘New World Order’ Really New?

As U.S. hegemony continues to dwindle, Donald Trump and his international allies are making preparations to maintain some grip on world power. One of these methods includes the “Board of Peace,” which was ostensibly created to reconstruct Gaza, but has demonstrated yet another attempt by Trump to undermine international law. Yanis Varoufakis, the Secretary-General of the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25), the former Finance Minister of Greece and author of Technofeudalism: What Killed Capitalism joins host Chris Hedges to discuss what the Board of Peace really means and how it relates to Trump’s larger geopolitical goals, including one seeking to curb China’s rising influence on the world stage.

Israel And The US Using The ‘Shock Doctrine’ In Gaza

The committee of Palestinian technocrats tasked with running Gaza is about to enter the Strip. Sanctioned by the U.S., the so-called “technocratic committee” will answer to the recently unveiled “Board of Peace” headed by Donald Trump. Palestinian factions had earlier voiced their rejection of the Board, calling it a recycling of the British Mandate era and a new form of colonial rule. But the Palestinian position has now shifted dramatically. All Palestinian factions now voice their support for the technocratic committee. Even Hamas said in a statement that it is ready to hand over the administration of Gaza to the administrative body, despite its subordinate character to Trump’s peace board.

Every Nation Should Reject Trump’s Dangerous ‘Board Of Peace’

The so-called “Board of Peace” being created by President Donald Trump is profoundly degrading to the pursuit of peace and to any nation that would lend it legitimacy. This is a trojan horse to dismantle the United Nations. It should be refused outright by every nation invited to join. In its Charter, the Board of Peace (BoP) claims to be an “international organization that seeks to promote stability, restore dependable and lawful governance, and secure enduring peace in areas affected or threatened by conflict.” If this sounds familiar, it should, because this is the mandate of the United Nations.

Trump Revokes Canada’s Invitation To ‘Board Of Peace’

US President Donald Trump revoked Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's invitation to join the so-called ‘Board of Peace’ on 23 January over the harsh comments Carney made about US foreign policy during his address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos. “Dear Prime Minister Carney: Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada’s joining, what will be, the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. The revocation comes after what was viewed as a criticism of US foreign policy during Carney’s Davos special address.
