The Charlie Kirk Show is now distributed by a federally registered agent of Israel tasked with seeding American media with Zionist propaganda. It is part of a whopping $46 million dollar annual contract between the Israeli government and Brad Parscale, the former chief of staff for Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. This may be the largest lobbying contract in the history of foreign influence operations in the US. On September 10, 2025, Kirk was assassinated during the first stop on his American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley State University.

October 14 is not really about honoring Charlie Kirk. The white supremacists who control the government with the support of the super-rich want to prevent a reawakening of the movement catalyzed by George Floyd’s murder. This is what’s behind the deployment of troops on the streets in our cities and the racist war against immigrant workers. These reactionary forces are co-opting Kirk’s birthdate to strengthen white supremacy, anti-LGBTQIA2S+ bigotry, and war at home and abroad. They want the corporate media to focus on Kirk instead of genocide in Gaza; war plans against Venezuela; ICE raids and deportations; deploying troops in our cities such as Portland, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles; and preparing to declare martial law on a wide-spread basis.

There have been many analyses that have been put forth that Trump and his minions represent an attempt at a fascist takeover at worst, and a turning back of the clock in terms of the trade union movement, the women’s movement, the Black liberation movement, every progressive movement that has occurred in the United States over the last couple of centuries at best. They’re attempting to turn back the clock on all of those movements to bring us to a point where we have no democratic rights whatsoever to organize and protest for systemic change or the progressive elimination of the status quo.  From their own declarations and proclamations, we know that Trump and his minions are racist to the core, anti-union to the core, anti-LGTBQ, anti-women, and anti-immigrant.

In the days since Kirk was shot at a speaking event at Utah Valley University, right-wing groups and figures have demanded mass censorship of all critical online speech directed at Kirk. President Donald Trump has effectively attributed the attack to the “radical left” and vowed to go after those he deems responsible. Mass doxing campaigns targeting people who contextualized Kirk’s politics or celebrated his killing has led to firings across the country. Amid the online chaos, narratives surrounding Kirk’s assassin, stemming from incomplete reporting from mainstream outlets and a lack of clear analysis by the FBI, have further fueled confusion and outrage across the political spectrum.

Political flamethrower Charlie Kirk was shot dead on September 10, 2025, while speaking at a political event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Authorities have arrested Utah resident Tyler James Robinson, 22. He allegedly confessed to the shooting to a family member. Kirk’s shooting has triggered a national discussion about the political significance and/or impact that it will have moving forward. There are two basic elements of analysis of this event for me: the human element and the political. From the human perspective, very simply put, this was first degree murder.  It was the unlawful and intentional killing of a human being by another human being with malice and aforethought.  Murder is wrong.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk presages a new, deadly stage in the disintegration of a fractious and highly polarized United States. While toxic rhetoric and threats are lobbed across cultural divides like hand grenades, sometimes spilling over into actual violence — including the murder of Minnesota House of Representatives Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband and the two assassination attempts against Donald Trump — Kirk’s killing is a harbinger of full-scale social disintegration. His murder has given the movement he represented — grounded in Christian nationalism — a martyr. Martyrs are the lifeblood of violent movements. Any flinching over the use of violence, any talk of compassion or understanding, any effort to mediate or discuss, is a betrayal of the martyr and the cause the martyr died defending.
