Kenyan Communist Leader Booker Ngesa Omole Abducted And Tortured

Booker Ngesa Omole, Kenyan political leader and the general secretary of the Communist Party Marxist–Kenya (CPM-K), was abducted and brutally assaulted by officers of the Kenya Police Service late on February 23, according to a public statement issued by the CPM-K. In two consecutive public statements issued on February 24 and 25, the party alleged that Omole was seized by officers of the Kenya Police Service in Isiolo and transported overnight before being held at Mlolongo Police Station. At the time of publication, Omole is still in state custody. There is limited public information about the charges on which he was arrested.

Communist Party Of China Opens Deliberations On 15th Five-Year Plan

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) began this Monday, October 20, in Beijing, with the agenda focused on drafting proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for the country’s economic and social development. The discussion of the five-year plan at the Fourth Session represents a change in the usual calendar, as this discussion normally takes place at the Fifth Plenary Session. The change may have occurred due to the delay of the Third Plenary Session, which did not take place until August 2024. Following the usual calendar, it was expected to take place in 2023.

The workers who had taken over the French capital in 1871 and launched a collective project of self-governance were able to hold out for seventy-two days before the ruling class trounced this experiment in a more egalitarian world.

CPC Charts Path To Achieve An Advanced Socialist Society By 2050

The third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in Beijing from Monday July 15 to Thursday, July 18. It adopted a resolution listing a set of reforms with the objective of deepening the modernization process in the country in the path to complete building an advanced socialist market economy in China by the year 2035 and an advanced socialist society by 2050. Chinese President Xi Jinping who is also the general secretary of the CPC presided over the meeting attended by 199 members and 165 alternate members. Each elected Central Committee, the highest decision making body between two party Congresses, holds seven plenums or meetings during its five year term.

On the first week of spring in 1931, at the nadir of the Great Depression, nine Black teenagers stowed away on a Memphis-bound train scuffled with a gaggle of white youths who took exception to their presence. The Black youths made quick work of their counterparts, heaving all but one, Orville Gilley, from the slow-moving railcars to the grassy knoll below.  Gilley would have met the same fate as his friends but by the time the Black youths got to him, the train had picked up considerable speed, and he was hanging perilously from the gondola. Fearing Gilley might fall underneath one of the railcars, two Black teenagers pulled him back to safety and stood down.
