Death Toll From US Extrajudicial Killings Reaches 142

US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) reported a new lethal strike in the Eastern Pacific on Friday, bringing the total number of deaths from its “kinetic strikes” on small boats to 142. The announcement comes as international legal experts and human rights organizations condemn this US policy, characterizing it as extrajudicial killings. In a statement on Friday, February 20, SOUTHCOM reported that its Operation Southern Spear conducted a “successful kinetic strike” against a small boat suspected of drug trafficking. The operation resulted in three assassinations.

Relatives Of Civilians Killed In US Caribbean Missile Strikes Sue Trump

Relatives of two Trinidadian citizens killed in a US missile strike in the Caribbean have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Trump administration. This litigation, the first of its kind, seeks justice for the brutality of the unauthorized military campaign that, under the pretext of a “war on drugs,” has claimed more than 120 lives in the Pacific and the Caribbean since last September. The lawsuit asserts that Chad Joseph and Rishi Samaroo, two workers who earned their living in fishing and agriculture in Venezuela, were returning to their home in Trinidad and Tobago on October 14, 2025, when a US missile struck their vessel.

US Alleges Unverified Land Strikes In Venezuela Amid Rising Civilian Deaths

On Monday, the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced a new extrajudicial execution as part of its Operation Southern Spear, killing two civilians in a small boat in Eastern Pacific waters. In addition, since Sunday, US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US carried out land strikes on Venezuelan territory; however, the US regime has not provided evidence of these attacks. The US publicized its latest assassinations in the manner that has now become familiar: US SOUTHCOM announced on social media that a new round of executions of defenseless Latin American civilians had been carried out in the waters of the Eastern Pacific ocean.

Deadly US Strikes Hit Eastern Pacific Hours After Fentanyl Declared WMD

The US military carried out an airstrike targeting several alleged drug-trafficking boats in the eastern Pacific Ocean late on 15 December, killing eight people just hours after US President Donald Trump announced that Washington is officially declaring Fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction (WMD). The army’s Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said it bombed “designated terrorist organizations” with “lethal kinetic strikes.” SOUTHCOM added that eight were killed – “Three in the first vessel, two in the second, and three in the third.”

UN Human Rights Chief Condemns ‘Unacceptable’ US Strikes

On Friday, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk issued the first clear United Nations (UN) condemnation of US military strikes against small boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, calling them unacceptable and demanding they stop. “These attacks, and their mounting human cost, are unacceptable,” Turk said. “The US must halt such attacks and take all measures necessary to prevent the extrajudicial killing of people aboard these boats, whatever the criminal conduct alleged against them.” “Over 60 people have reportedly been killed in a continuing series of attacks carried out by US armed forces against boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific since early September, in circumstances that find no justification in international law,” he stated.

US Extrajudicial Strikes Kill 14 In Pacific Off The Coast Of Mexico

A total of 14 people were killed and one survived after the US government conducted three strikes against four small boats in the waters of the Eastern Pacific near Mexico, in what is being described as another extrajudicial killing. The information was released Tuesday morning by US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who claimed on social media that “three lethal kinetic attacks were carried out against four vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations … A total of 14 narcoterrorists died during the three attacks.” Hegseth claimed that the first attack killed eight people on board two boats, the second killed four men, and the third killed two people. He also claimed that there is one survivor. While writing that “there were no casualties among the US forces,” Hegseth confirmed that the US government had ordered further extrajudicial executions, in flagrant violation of international and US laws.

Venezuela Launches Simón Bolívar International Brigades

On Friday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced that Venezuela will form an international volunteer brigade to confront any US intervention or aggression. The statement was made during a meeting of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform. “We have received proposals from all over Latin America and the Caribbean, from Asia, Africa, and from many other places. I have seen videos on social media from many people, social leaders, saying that they too are getting ready,” Maduro said. He added that the international brigades, comprised of “men and women of the world,” would defend Venezuela’s sovereignty. President Maduro added that Washington is unleashing “a new eternal war,” commenting on the controversial US deployment and aggressions in the Caribbean Sea, with 10 strikes on small boats that have already killed 43 civilians in actions labeled as extrajudicial killings by international experts.

Trump Announces New ‘Kinetic Strike’ Off Venezuela’s Coast

On Tuesday, US ruler Donald Trump claimed that US military forces deployed in the Caribbean Sea carried out a new attack on a small boat “off the coast of Venezuela,” without specifying a precise location, killing six people he alleged were carrying drugs. Since Sept. 2, Trump has allegedly ordered military strikes on at least five boats in the Caribbean Sea that his regime insists were carrying drugs to the US. This latest illegal action brings the number of extrajudicial killings committed by US military forces to 27 unidentified civilians. Through Truth Social, the White House tenant published that his secretary of war, Peter Hegseth, ordered a “lethal kinetic attack” against a small boat supposedly off the coast of Venezuela, based on information allegedly provided by US intelligence.

Venezuela To Declare State Of External Unrest

Hours after US President Donald Trump threatened to “blow out of existence” the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro announced Tuesday night that the government is considering a decree that would declare a state of external unrest. The decision was announced during an extraordinary meeting of Venezuela’s Council of State at the Miraflores Palace in Caracas. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro made the announcement alongside Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, Attorney General Tarek William Saab, President of the Supreme Court of Justice Caryslia Rodriguez, and President of the National Assembly Jorge Rodriguez. This unprecedented Constitutional measure would allow Venezuela to take exceptional actions in the face of a possible military attack by the United States.
