Even Biden’s Lawyers Urge The White House To Change Course On Gaza

In a message to Attorney General Merrick Garland and other senior officials this week, federal government attorneys invoked British abolitionist William Wilberforce: “You may choose to look the other way, but you can never say again that you did not know.” The letter , drafted by unnamed legal and policy staff at more than two dozen federal agencies, argues that the U.S. is violating domestic and international law by providing a steady stream of weapons to Israel despite evidence of war crimes in Gaza. Drawing comparisons to the infamous “torture memos,” which were drafted by government lawyers to provide cover to CIA waterboarding  and other tactics, the letter reminded fellow attorneys of their binding duty to follow the law over political priorities.

USAID Whistleblowers Accuse Biden Of ‘Direct Complicity’ In Gaza Famine

Current and former officials from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department say the White House has ignored months of internal warnings about the spread of famine in the besieged Gaza Strip, according to an in-depth investigation by the Independent. “I believe the US to be complicit in creating the conditions for famine. Not only has our response been woefully inadequate, but we’re actively responsible in large part for it,” a USAID employee told the British daily. Internal documents reviewed by the Independent show that staffers have repeatedly warned USAID administrator Samantha Power and other senior leaders about the intensifying crisis in Gaza “often to no avail.”

US Army Officer Resigns Over ‘Unqualified’ Support For Israel

An Army officer working at the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has resigned in protest of the US’s “unqualified” support for the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza. Maj. Harrison Mann posted his resignation letter on LinkedIn and said it was initially distributed within the DIA on April 16. In the letter, he said the DIA does not only “inform policy” but “facilitates, and at times, directly executes policy,” referring to US support for Israel. “The policy that has never been far from my mind for the past six months is the nearly unqualified support for the government of Israel, which has enabled and empowered the killing and starvation of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians,” Mann said in the letter.

Meet The Violent Zionist Agitators Los Angeles Police Haven’t Arrested

On April 30, thirty people were injured when a mob of Zionist hooligans savagely assaulted the pro-Palestine UCLA encampment shortly before midnight. For over three hours, local and campus police stood down as the masked thugs assaulted students, journalists, and even officers of the law with fireworks volleys, pepper spray, and metal pipes. Though multiple attackers have been identified by community members on social media, to date there have been no arrests of pro-Israel goons. The Grayzone has obtained a dossier composed by anonymous sleuths claiming involvement with the UCLA student protests which apparently identifies some of the attack’s perpetrators.

‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 220: Resistance Returns To The North

The Gaza-based Palestinian health ministry announced that the remaining hospitals in the Gaza Strip received 130 Palestinians who were killed in Israeli strikes since Thursday, May 9, while 241 others arrived wounded. Meanwhile, local media sources reported that in the past 24 hours, Israeli forces continued a renewed offensive on the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City’s south for the fifth day in a row. Israeli incursions were accompanied by intense airstrikes on the Zeitoun, Sabra, and Shuja’iyya neighborhoods, as well as on the Jabalia refugee camp, where Israeli forces have also entered by ground.

Israel’s Willing Executioners

Run the Israelis demand, run for your lives. Run from Rafah the way you ran from Gaza City, the way you ran from Jabalia, the way you ran from Deir al-Balah, the way you ran from Beit Hanoun, the way you ran from Bani Suheila, the way you ran from Khan Yunis. Run or we will kill you. We will drop 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs on your tent encampments. We will spray you with bullets from our machine-gun-equipped drones. We will pound you with artillery and tank shells. We will shoot you down with snipers. We will decimate your tents, your refugee camps, your cities and towns, your homes, your schools, your hospitals and your water purification plants. We will rain death from the sky.

University Of California Office Of The President Attacked

With the Aurora Borealis above us and the martyrs in our hearts, we attacked the UC Office of the President in solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance. Using a fire extinguisher filled with red paint we covered the facade and smashed seven windows. Then, with access to the building, we released 500 cockroaches inside and emptied a second fire extinguisher onto the interior. We finalized the act by leaving a water jug inscribed with "Bonk" at the scene - an homage to the militants of Cal Poly Humboldt and the international student encampment movement.

US Senator Says Israel Should Drop Nuclear Bombs On Gaza

US Senator Lindsey Graham argued in a live TV interview that Israel should drop nuclear bombs on Gaza. More than 2 million Palestinian civilians are trapped in the densely populated strip, including 1 million children. Israel has imposed what its Defense Minister Yoav Gallant referred to as a “complete siege” of Gaza, preventing civilians from leaving as Tel Aviv has brutally bombed the strip. To justify his proposal for Israel to nuke Gaza, Graham cited the US atomic bombing of Japan, which he insisted was necessary. However, the US government admitted that the nuclear attack on Japan was not needed to end World War

On Parenthood And Genocide

My son is nine months old, almost 10. He is beautiful. He crawls, quickly, babbling to himself like an old man who is late for an appointment. He pulls up on the furniture, taking his first sideways steps. Four months have passed since I’ve written this article, and an additional 4,500 children have been killed. Children like him. Beautiful. Meanwhile, American students, my students, protesting their murder, are being handcuffed and beaten — criminalized by the very same apparatus that arms this mass murder of children and their parents.  Sunday is day 218 of genocide and it is Mother’s Day in the United States. And it is a day, like the 217 that preceded it, of sadness and rage. It is also a day that we must act.

As An Incarcerated Person, I Feel Connected To The People Of Gaza

Ten years ago, a friend of mine made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. When she returned, she came to visit me in prison where I am serving a life sentence in Georgia. I was horrified to hear from her stories that Israel was denying Palestinians access to fresh water, arbitrarily arresting and detaining Palestinians, and separating them from their homeland by a towering wall. She shared images of graffiti that covered the wall: markings that started as a protest but, at the time of her visit, had become a tourist attraction. It was jarring to see a spray-painted “John loves Emily” on such a structure; it seemed to me then that a humanitarian crisis had been normalized into a way of life.

The Students Did Not Invent The Encampments; We Inherited Them.

The fanfare over outside agitators, over how many students were involved (or not), over whether flares were lit (or not), over whose freedom of speech was infringed upon (or not), over which administrators said what, and when, and how — It’s all a distraction. From the fact that Israel is now bombing tents in the most populated parts of Rafah, an area the size of Newark into which 1.4 million people have been forced. The fact that Israel has now sealed the border with Egypt, cutting off life-saving aid as it extends its policy of mass starvation.

White House: Israel Likely Violated International Law In Gaza

The White House on 10 May issued a highly anticipated report on Israel's conduct during its genocidal war in Gaza, saying it is “reasonable to assess” Tel Aviv used US-provided weapons in ways that are “inconsistent” with international law but stopping short of identifying violations that would put an end to the ongoing military aid. “It is reasonable to assess that defense articles covered under [national security memorandum] NSM-20 have been used by Israeli security forces since October 7 in instances inconsistent with its IHL [international humanitarian law] obligations or with established best practices for mitigating civilian harm,” the report, drafted by the State Department, says.

GW University Students Storm Campus With Second Encampment

Washington DC—George Washington University Students stormed back by the hundreds onto the campus streets on Thursday afternoon. They told of their experiences during a police raid the day before, and then set up a second temporary encampment of tents near the University President Ellen Granberg’s F Street Home. The student-led action came 36 hours after 32 were arrested during a predawn Wednesday morning raid on the U-Yard. The Press coverage was quarantined during the police take down of their U-Yard encampment so there is limited video of the raid. However, students described a disturbing sequence of events during the raid.

Over 130 Arrested At Gaza Solidarity Demonstration

At 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, protesters set up an encampment on the Student Union South Lawn. Protesters were advocating for the University of Massachusetts to divest from war-profiteering companies involved in Israel’s bombardment of Gaza and to drop the charges of the students arrested at the Whitmore demonstration in October. As the day progressed, dozens of police officers, many in riot gear, arrived on the scene and arrested over 130 undergraduates, graduate students, professors and community members. The protest was led by the UMass chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

‘Bushnell’s Men’ Hack 30,000 Western Printers In Protest Of Gaza

A hacker group dedicated to the memory of Aaron Bushnell, who burned himself to death in February in protest of Israel's genocide in Gaza, has hacked into printers worldwide, causing them to print flyers promoting Bushnell's message. The hacker group, Bushnell's Men, posted a message on its Telegram page on 14 March stating, “Due to the press boycott of the genocide in Gaza by countries profiting from the war, 'The Bushnell's Men' as a hacker group is committed to exposing the reality via printing this paper through over 30,000 printers across the world.” The message stated further, “We ask all truth-seekers to join the #Bushnellmen campaign in this regard.
