Instead, they’re embraced by polite society and enjoy influential posts in corporate media, academia and Washington think tanks. Their concealment of Biden’s declining mental faculties helped precipitate 2024’s disastrous electoral results. Democratic leaders in Congress, ostensibly in an oppositional role, continue to respond to Trump’s militaristic authoritarianism, both at home and abroad, with characteristic fecklessness and even tacit support.
