Palestine Action Defendants Address Jury Directly

Five Palestine Action activists dismissed their lawyers this week  and addressed a jury directly about how they targeted an Israeli weapons factory in Bristol. The activists — Charlotte Head, Fatema Zainab Rajwani, Zoe Rogers, Leona Kamio and Jordan Devlin – face charges of criminal damage in connection with a raid on Elbit Systems in August 2024. On Wednesday morning, shortly before closing speeches were due to be heard at Woolwich Crown Court, those five defendants elected to represent themselves rather than be represented by their barristers.

UK Judge Gags Palestine Action Defendants To Secure ‘Terror’ Stitch-Up

Since the retrial of six Palestine Action (PA) activists began on April 13, the defendants have been barred under court order from using terms like “genocide” or discussing the target of their direction action protests. Meanwhile, supporters of PA have been arrested outside the court for holding signs advising jurors of their right to acquit the defendants based on conscience. Now, a draft court order reviewed by The Grayzone reveals how the presiding judge has sought to comprehensively neutralize the PA activists’ ability to defend themselves by imposing crippling restrictions on what can be said in closing speeches.

132 Academics, Writers And Public Figures Risk Terror Charges

In an unprecedented action, more than 130 leading scholars and public figures are risking arrest on terror charges after writing an open letter to the Court of Appeal concerning Palestine Action. The letter, dated 24 April 2026, simply reads: We oppose genocide, we support Palestine Action. The words that have become synonymous with the campaign to Lift the Ban. Sally Rooney, Greta Thunberg, and Judith Butler were among the first to put their names to this defiant declaration. Joining them are prominent artists and musicians such as Nadine Shah, Brian Eno, Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, the actor Billy Howle

More Than 500 People Arrested At Rally For Palestine Action

Police in London have arrested more than 500 pro-Palestinian protesters supporting the Palestine Action group during a sit-down demonstration in Trafalgar Square. Officers have removed activists while other demonstrators have cheered and clapped. The protesters on Saturday faced arrest for holding placards supporting Palestine Action, and the Metropolitan Police confirmed 523 arrests of people aged 18 to 87. Palestine Action was designated a “terrorist” organisation in July, making membership in or support for the group punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

‘Everyone’ To Defy UK’s Farcical ‘Cat And Mouse’ Game Of Arrests

On Saturday 11 April 2026, thousands of ordinary, peace-loving people will gather in Trafalgar Square, London. They’ll be there in open defiance of the UK government’s misguided crackdown on peaceful protest. This peaceful vigil, called ‘Everyone Day’, will demonstrate the unwaning resistance to the ban on Palestine Action. The UK government unlawfully proscribed this direct action movement as a ‘terrorist group’, paving the way for numerous arrests. The action will be a peaceful vigil, with people sitting down holding their handwritten paper signs.

Cornell Student Momodou Taal Detained Under UK Terror Law

London - Momodou Taal, a British student at Cornell University, was detained by UK police at Heathrow Airport this week under Schedule 7, a controversial stop-and-search power under the Terrorism Act 2000, which UN experts have repeatedly warned is misused against activists and minorities. Taal was held for six hours under a law that does not require reasonable suspicion and removes the right to remain silent. He was questioned about his childhood, mosque, Islamic preachers, and friends. His DNA was taken, and his phone and laptop remain confiscated.

High Court Trickery On Palestine Action

The High Court judge who granted a legal challenge to the government’s decision to proscribe Palestine Action — the first time in British history a civil-disobedience organisation has been declared a terrorist group, one now treated as on a par with Al-Qaeda — was removed at the last minute last week.  The judicial review hearing began without Justice Martin Chamberlain. He was replaced with a panel of three judges. Justice Chamberlain did not suffer any timetabling conflicts. The Justice Ministry declined to offer any explanation for such a highly irregular change.

Protests Continue As Court Prepares To Review Palestine Action Ban

More than 2,350 people have been arrested since the British government banned the direct-action group Palestine Action earlier this year, including over 250 detained during peaceful protests this month alone. Since the proscription in July, people across the country have mobilized against the government’s repression of Palestine solidarity, intensifying their activities ahead of a legal review of the ban scheduled to begin on Wednesday, November 26. Between November 18 and 29, sign-holding protests are expected in 18 locations across Britain. Several spots in London were chosen for their relevance to the crackdown on Palestine Action and related attacks on free expression, the network Defend Our Juries explained in its announcement.

England And Wales Arrest Dozens Of Palestine Action Supporters

Police in England and Wales arrested more than 140 people on Tuesday, the first day of coordinated protests against the UK government’s proscription of the direct action group Palestine Action. No arrests were made at parallel events in Scotland and Northern Ireland. In each location, protesters staged sit-downs, holding signs that read, “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine.” The group, Defend Our Juries (DOJ), which organised the protests, said an estimated 142 people were arrested on Tuesday, with more actions scheduled to take place this week ahead of the planned judicial review into the ban on Palestine Action on 24 November.

Craig Murray: 36-Minute Trials And No Jury

Those charged with terrorism for supporting Palestine Action will have no jury in trials limited to 36 minutes each, with prison sentences up to six months. These are the plans for Starmer Courts for mass trials of anti-Genocide protestors. The plans are devised by Justice Michael Snow. He is the epitome of judicial prejudice. When Julian Assange appeared before Snow in the first hearing after being dragged from the Embassy, Snow called Assange a “narcissist” even though Assange had said nothing but to confirm his name, and no evidence had been led.

UK Court Allows Palestine Action To Challenge Terror Designation

The UK Home Office has lost its attempt to prevent a judicial review of its decision to designate Palestine Action as a terrorist organization, following a Court of Appeal ruling issued on 17 October. The court dismissed the government’s appeal and confirmed that the case brought by Palestine Action co-founder Huda Ammori will proceed, adding two further grounds of challenge that had previously been denied. These grounds, according to the judgment, include allegations that the Home Secretary failed to consider relevant information, or relied on irrelevant material, and that she did not follow her own published policy outlining factors to be assessed before proscription.

UK Home Office Loses Bid To Block Palestine Action

The UK Home Office has lost its appeal to block Palestine Action from challenging its ban as a terror group. The Court of Appeal on Friday dismissed the government's attempt to stop the judicial review of its decision to ban the group. During the judgement, four judges, including the Lady Chief Justice, also granted Palestine Action's co-founder, Huda Ammori, two further grounds to challenge the ban, that were previously rejected. These grounds include that the Home Secretary, at the time, failed to consider relevant information or/and considered irrelevant information, and that she failed to follow her published policy "which prescribes that certain factors may be taken into account".

Police Make Almost 500 Arrests At Palestine Action Protest In London

Police have arrested almost 500 people in London at what organisers hoped would be the biggest demonstration so far against a ban on the proscribed organisation Palestine Action. Officers began arresting demonstrators at the silent vigil in support of the group, which has been classed by the UK government as a terror organisation since July this year. The first arrest took place shortly after 1pm as the seated protesters took out pens and wrote signs showing support for Palestine Action. Dozens of police were lined up to begin arresting members of the group, who were sitting silently on the pavement in the square. Early indications suggest the hundreds of protesters, with a mixture of ages and different backgrounds including many retirees, may not be enough to break the record for the number of arrests.

More Than 425 Arrested As Protesters Defy Ban On Palestine Action In London

More than 425 people have been arrested at the largest demonstration yet opposing the proscription of Palestine Action. Defend Our Juries, who organised the demonstrations, said there were 1,500 sign-holders in Parliament Square on Saturday at a fresh protest in London against the ban. At the previous major demonstration last month, 532 people were arrested for taking part. Participants gathered in Parliament Square by 1pm, many holding signs that read: “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.” At just after 9pm, the Metropolitan police said it had made more than 425 arrests. The Met’s deputy assistant commissioner, Claire Smart, who led the operation, said: “In carrying out their duties today, our officers have been punched, kicked, spat on and had objects thrown at them by protesters.

Pro-Palestine Political Prisoners On Hunger Strike Are Dying

Political prisoner T. Hoxha is dying. She is on her 18th day of hunger strike in HMP Peterborough in protest of the prison’s politically-targeted abuses. One of the Filton 24 detained indefinitely under the UK’s “Terrorism Act” while awaiting trial next spring, Hoxha is alleged to have participated in the heroic dismantling of an Elbit Systems weapons factory, causing €1 million in damages. Over two weeks into her strike, Hoxha’s loved ones report that her physical and mental health is deteriorating fast, her hair is falling out, her jaw is in pain, and her brain fog is worsening, while the prison neglects her medical care. Supporters on the outside are organizing a call-in campaign to demand the prison administration give her electrolyte sachets and meet her demands.
