We are excited to release the Manifesto of the People’s Congress of Resistance!

Titled “Society for the Many: A vision for revolution,” the manifesto sets out a bold and clear program for people’s power, emancipation, equality and a society to meet human needs. Read it here!

In the introductory paragraphs, the People’s Congress of Resistance Manifesto explains:

“Without a revolutionary vision, change will not take a revolutionary direction. Resistance will remain rudderless, an exercise in activism for its own sake, or it will be co-opted into a vessel for the political elites. A vision for social, economic and political revolution is necessary. We need to know where we want to go. Our vision ties our actions to our goal by showing us what we are mobilizing for. It guides us in coordinating our strategies and tactics. It helps us build collective strength. Our vision tells us how we can win and that we will win.

“A society organized for the equality and emancipation of the many is one where production is democratically directed for the benefit of the many and not for the private profit of the few. Rather than banks and corporations determining people’s lives and futures, the people determine their destiny themselves.”

The Manifesto, written by the People’s Congress of Resistance conveners, lays out our core vision and central tasks.

  • DHFabian

I urge people to download and read this manifesto. It’s the most realistic, inclusive, and do-able plan I’ve seen in years.

  • Linda Jansen

I can’t subscribe to any organization who describes its mission “to defeat Trump.” I wish you well, but until your scope includes the system as a whole including the highly corrupt Democratic party, you will fail.

  • kevinzeese

This is about much more than Trump, it is about the system of which Trump is the current symptom.

  • Helga Fellay

then why, in addition to all the other pretty rhetoric about the people, does it not mention anything about the push for war against Russia, our military industrial complex in general, etc.? The word “Resistance” at this point in time has come to mean only one thing: Resistance to Trump. Which then also means resistance to Trump’s policy of Diplomacy with Russia, instead of war against Russia. Like Linda Jansen, I can’t subscribe to any organization that goes by that name. Because the name was invented by the Democratic party, and is a trick to endow it with executive powers which I can not be a part of. “Resistance” means more of the Establishment which is what we should be resisting.

  • Helga Fellay

you have proved my point stated above. If you like it, it has to be evil.

  • kevinzeese

Resistance was not invented by the Democrats, for example Popular Resistance was created during the Obama administration. Yes, the Democratic Party front groups have tried to take the word over. This is one of their tactics for destroying a movement. So, they use the word and even Hillary Clinton now says she is part of the resistance!

Have you actually read the document? There is no way this could be viewed as a pro-Democratic Party document or even only an anti-Trump document. It advocates for a system transformation — one neither party would support at this time.

  • kevinzeese

Did you read the document — it is all about changing the system as a whole. It is definitely not a Democratic Party form of resistance as it puts forward an anti-corporate, anti-Wall Street and anti-war agenda that the Democrats, even their most progressive members, do not support. • Helga Fellay

I don’t care who invented it, I care about what it means today, which is “resistance to Trump no matter what.” The Dem Establishment has made this word their own, and I don’t need to read the document, I will not be part of anything that goes by this name. It is the “Resistance” movement which the Deep State and party establishment (both parties) are using to wage their coup against Trump, causing all these dangerous global confrontations we are facing now. Even if this movement you describe is good, it will not be able to do anything good while it operates under that name. And you should be aware that if DHFabian, whom you know well, is enthusiastic about it,…. I rest my case.

  • kevinzeese

Well, we’re not changing our name as it has been in existence for long before Trump.

You should read the document because your concerns are misplaced and you sound silly opposing something that I suspect you will completely agreement as it challenges the power structure, including the Democrats.

  • Helga Fellay

I never suggested you change the name of “Popular Resistance” as this is a complete name in itself and differs from the “Resistance” movement whose primary objective is to resist Donald Trump in Everything, including his efforts to establish diplomacy instead of aggressive wars. I also believe, as do most people from DemExit, that challenging the Dem power structive is completely futile, which they have proven over and over, in spite of every indication that they are circling the drain. Instead of returning to their grass roots, they are actually moving in the opposite direction and trying to outdo the Republican neocons and Alt Right. They are a lost cause, and any movement that does not realize this is doomed to fail.

  • kevinzeese

You are right about the Dems being a lost cause. They have been a lost cause for generations. They started out as a slave owners party and have been a big business party their entire existence. Now they are a Wall Street and war party. People should flee them and not wast their time trying to change them or vote for them.
