The Time Is Now: #Unistoten

Yesterday TransCanada tried to enter Unist’ot’en territory to begin work on their Coastal GasLink fracked gas pipeline. They were respectfully turned away by Johnny Morris of the Gidimt’en Clan. None of the Wet’suwet’en Clans consent to this project, and the hereditary chiefs have been clear that TransCanada does not have permission to build pipelines through our unceded and occupied homelands. (Please share the October 2018 Press Release:  BC and Canada Ignore Wet’suwet’en Title Holders To Push Pipeline Agenda)

Unfortunately, TransCanada has decided that the best time to begin confrontations with the Unist’ot’en is while we are facing an ongoing family crisis. Freda’s partner Smogelgem’s mother is currently in home palliative care. In the past, oil and gas has escalated their efforts to push into our lands when we are enduring family crises. Enbridge and TransCanada’s most aggressive efforts to enter our lands were made when Freda’s brother and father had just passed away.

This encroachment on our territories is not only extremely disrespectful but brazenly illegal. We are the plaintiffs of the Delgamuukw-Gisdaywa Supreme Court Case, and we have proven that we have never given up title to our lands. We are the decision makers on our land. Wet’suwet’en law is our law.

Great job standing your sacred ground! There is no reason to desecrate Mother Earth with the extraction of toxic materials. I hope you can get the government to follow its own law.

There are myriad other ways to create energy that actually regenerate the planet, number one being industrial hemp. With the legalization of both recreational and industrial cannabis in Canada, we should be seeing healthy hemp oil “pipelines” replacing toxic, planet-killing petrol pipelines on a large scale basis. The “pipelines” should have trucks made from hemp-based plastic and run on hemp fuel to deliver the thousands of superior products made from a plant that regenerates soil and mitigates toxic waste. Industrial hemp makes four kinds of fuel, amazing food products, superior medicine, fiber from silky to sails, building materials, plastics, and much more. Several tribes are growing hemp these days to help create healthy economies with this amazing gift from the Creator that greedy white men like those in this article took away back in the day so they could spread their poison for profit and keep hemp out of the hands of the people.

It’s time to resist and regenerate, and the heroes of this article are a great inspiration in that direction!

Thank you for a positive possibility to replace toxic oil along with the human toxicities that accompany this obsolete product.
