Troops Seek To Avoid Iran Deployment.
The State Department declared an ’emergency’ to bypass Congress and send thousands of 1,000lb bombs to Israel.
The US State Department on 6 March bypassed Congress to approve the sale of thousands of 1,000 lb bombs to Israel, declaring an “emergency” due to the US-Israel war on Iran.
The $151.8 million deal covers 12,000 BLU-110A/B 1,000-lb bomb bodies, as well as logistics and technical support. These bombs are manufactured by Repkon USA, which is owned by Repkon, a Turkish firm.
By invoking the emergency determination, the State Department waived the normal congressional review period under the Arms Export Control Act.
“This proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a strategic regional partner that has been, and continues to be, an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East,” as a statement from the department claimed.
“The proposed sale will improve Israel’s capability to meet current and future threats, strengthen its homeland defense, and serve as a deterrent to regional threats,” the statement added.
The US joined Israel in bombing Iran on 28 February, killing Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other top leaders, along with hundreds of civilians on the first day.
US and Israeli bombing has now killed at least 1,332 Iranian civilians.
According to US officials speaking with the New York Times, the sale also includes 10,000 500-pound bombs and 5,000 small-diameter bombs. The munitions, services, and accessories are valued at more than $500 million.

This is the first time that US President Donald Trump has formally declared an emergency to bypass Congress to sell arms to Israel.
The current White House bypassed the informal approval process in Congress three times to sell arms or send weapons aid to Israel, without declaring an emergency.
In January, the State Department bypassed Congress to expedite the shipment of $6.5 billion of weapons, including Apache attack helicopters and combat land vehicles.
Washington gives $3.8 billion in aid to Tel Aviv, which uses much but not all of the funds to buy US-made weapons.
The emergency sale of bombs to Israel comes as increasing numbers of US soldiers are turning against Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war on Iran.
According to a prominent anti-war activist, a growing number of US soldiers and their families are seeking to find ways to dodge deployment to fight in the US-Israeli war on Iran.
“Phone has been ringing off the hook,” wrote Mike Prysner, executive director of the Center on Conscience and War, on social media.
I just spoke with the mother of a service member in this unit. They were given one last call home before having to turn in their phones. He told his mom the were going “boots on the ground” tonight.
He said that many troops had not been informed that the mission involved combat until the last minute and were initially told they were simply going to training.
According to Prysner, an Iraq war veteran, the number of military units being deployed is far greater than what the US public has been told.

One soldier told his mother in his final call home that his unit would be going “boots on the ground” that night, and that his commander said the operation was meant to bring about the Second Coming of Christ.
So far, six US troops have been killed after one week of war.
“With the first American casualties in yet another immoral war, more soldiers will begin to question their role. Our job is to find them, defend them, and help bring them home,” Prysner stated.
US service members have lodged dozens of complaints in recent days, saying senior officers are calling the war on Iran part of “God’s divine plan,” with claims that US President Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus” to spark Armageddon.
