YouTube Censors Abby Martin-Max Blumenthal On Israeli Militarism

According to The Empire Files‘ official Twitter account, YouTube sent the program a notice saying “We have received a legal complaint regarding your video.”

TeleSUR presenter Abby Martin‘s episode highlighting Israeli military violence against Palestinians has been blocked by YouTube in 28 countries for supposedly violating “local laws,” the presenter has announced.

According to The Empire Files‘ official Twitter account, YouTube sent the program a notice saying “We have received a legal complaint regarding your video,” and notifying that the video would be blocked in 28 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Israel and Italy.

The blocked episode featured an interview with journalist Max Blumenthal about the rise in militaristic and racist attitudes toward Palestinians in Israel.

Max Blumenthal later told RT: “My comments were based entirely on my extensive journalistic experience in the region and my analysis was clinical in nature. At no point did I denigrate anyone based on their faith or ethnicity.”

Blumenthal believes that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is behind the censoring: it participates in YouTube’s flagging system, and considers actions tied to Boycott, Sanctions and Divestment (BDS) and opposition to Israeli occupation as racism.

Cooperation between Zionist forces and social media to censor pro-Palestinemedia has been well documented. Last year, journalist Glenn Greenwald revealed that social-media giant Facebook was actively working with the Israeli government to engage in censorship.

Tel Aviv believes that ‘online incitement’ is responsible for resistance to the occupation, and actively seeks to suppress allegedly ‘inflammatory’ posts.

Thank you for this honest piece of work. See honesty so seldom in the news anymore. And I find that my pro Israel stand since my teen-aged years, is no longer. Slowly, slowly, over time it has changed to a pro Palestine stand. Most worrisome is the abolishing of the truth guidelines, from the American news media. Truth wiped. Never expected the state of Israel to turn into Nazi Germany. Power corrupts, as far back in history as we can see it. Now Israel urges us to war with Syria, so they can pipeline Syria’s bounty of water to make the stolen, arid, Palestinian land, bloom. And we Americans are no better than the Israelis–all of us placid in face of usurpation of our countries by truly evil 1% controllers.

This is just heartbreaking. Thanks to Paul Jay and all of the courageous reporters who stand up to Israhell.

Dammit, I find once again (when will I learn?) that I’m caught in the vise of
“Hold on, this is waiting to be approved by Popular Resistance”‘s over-zealous monitoring mechanism. Dammit, PR should organize and maintain a listing of beyond-reproach websites that support/augment the text of comments such as mine and override this foolish all-inclusive “waiting to be approved” impediment to the commenting process.

    Ooops, youtube/ADL…

Nothing like censoring a video to insure its wide distribution and viewing!

I used a clip of that show in my show today with a journalist reporting live from Gaz and a young Jewish American member of IfNotNow.
