In a 48 hour blitz thousands of Americans have come forward to say they will serve part of Manning’s prison term.
More than 2100 people showed their support for Bradley Manning by signing up to serve some of his prison sentence.
This outpouring of support has happened in less than 48 hours.
If Manning was given the full potential sentence of 136 years, each would serve 23.2 days! If we get to 3,000 today, each would serve 16 days.
Bradley Manning has already served 1,166 days in jail. We don’t think Manning should serve another day in jail. He has served all of us with his heroic, humanitarian whistleblowing.
Why are people signing?
Troy T. I’m 77 years old on Social Insecurity and I can do a year’s time for my brother.
Katherine L. (Great Britain) Good luck with the petition – and I hope so much that Mr Manning becomes aware of all the love and support that there is for him around the world. There is no question that he did the right thing. He and his family should be proud.
Charlotte Scot, who originated the campaign, says, “Our government is constantly telling us, IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. Bradley Manning saw a great many things and said something. Now, they want him to spend 136 years in prison.”
Co-Petitioner, Kevin Zeese, an organizer of Popular Resistance.org says, “People are getting fed up with secret laws and secret courts and a government that disregards our constitution and wants to know our every move but in turn does not want us to know anything about what it is doing in our name.” Zeese also serves in the steering committee of the Bradley Manning Support Network.
