The Internet Is Rising Up For Net Neutrality

Congress only has until December 10th to use the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to reverse the FCC’s resoundingly unpopular repeal of net neutrality. After that, there are other paths to restoring open Internet protections, but this is a crucial moment to make sure lawmakers are feeling the heat and know that people are paying attention to where they stand.

With the deadline fast approaching, we’ve launched a major online action at DeadlineForNetNeutrality.com, calling on the whole Internet to sign an open letter to lawmakers. And the Internet is rising up.

Tens of thousands have already signed on to the open letter at DeadlineForNetNeutrality.com

The push has already head an impact, with Rep Joe Morelle (NY-24) becoming the first member of Congress to announce their support for the CRA after it’s been stalled in the House for months.

Celebrities like Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and actress and activist Alyssa Milano helped amplify the call, along with startups, grassroots organizations, and major websites.

Thousands of Internet users from across the political spectrum added their voices. Showing the wide ranging support for net neutrality.

All the online action led to #NetNeutrality trending on Twitter in Washington, DC and other major cities, despite it being a … busy news day.

Many Senators and House Reps tweeted their support and called on their colleagues to sign on to support the CRA before the deadline.

The fight for net neutrality is far from over. We’ll keep pushing to hold our elected officials accountable. We’ll beat back bad legislation. We’ll fight in the courts and in the states. And in the end, we will win.
