Fired Up: The Wildfire National Convening

We are the Wildfire Project:

The Wildfire Project (Wildfire) trains, supports, and networks grassroots groups to help build a broad and powerful movement for social, political, economic, and ecological justice.

We work provides free, cutting edge political education, organizing training, and group transformation for communities that are on front lines of crisis  to support them in their actual work. We prioritize groups that use direct action to fight for real wins here and now, while building power for the long battles ahead. We believe that training and education must be grounded in action, and that we need to build a powerful movement together by transforming ourselves and one another…sounds cool right?
This November we are bringing all the groups we’ve trained together for the first time! Working on everything from mass incarceration to climate change, they’ll spend four days learning from each other finding overlaps in the work, and preparing to rise to the challenge of the coming movement moments. Together, they will get ready to turn crises into real opportunities for social change.

The dates are November 13th-16th in Florida. Grab this chance to build the movement with us!

What we need

We are working with our groups to help them get to Florida, but we really need your help for lodging and food! For 60 people it would be around $166 per person which is why we need $10,000 for the convening.

This is a pretty big deal…

Over the past two years, we’ve worked with some of the most incredible emerging groups in the country – folks fighting tooth and nail to survive, and to push the movement to the next level. We’ve supported them in sharpening their skills, deepening their politics, and becoming more powerful and individuals and as groups.
These are some of the groups we’ve worked with:

But Wildfire is more than training; Wildfire is movement-building.

In August, we brought together 20 leaders from the groups we’ve trained to launch our first Fellowship program, in which we train folks as trainers and send them back to their groups with our support to run trainings around the country.

Now we’re taking that to the next level. Fired Up, our first ever national convening, will lay ground for a powerful network of front-line groups ready to rise to the challenge of the coming movement moments

Imagine the impact of all these groups being in one room together? It’s going to be powerful.

FYI: The Wildfire Project is sponsored by the 501 (c3) non-profit Res Publica.
