Public Announcement: 2 Days of Civil Disobedience in Dublin
Ireland Says No have announced 2 days of rolling civil disobedience for Dublin city, on Thursday the 6th and Friday the 7th of March. This is in response to the hosting of the European People’s Party European conference being held in the National Conference Centre, Dublin. The EPP is far from a people’s party, and represents corporations and the very rich. The EPP is a collection of radical, right-wing political parties from across Europe, many in power currently, such as governments and regimes led by Angela Merkel in Germany and Enda Kenny in Ireland. EPP members encourage and engage in corruption and deception-politics through their respective national political parties, evidence of which is to be found at local, national and European level.
Fine Gael, the Irish EPP governing party, has not acted upon one of its election promises and has implemented policies that are in complete contradiction to their pre-election programmes for government. As such, the EPP associated Irish ‘government’ is not a democratically elected government but a changeling regime formed through lies, deceit and the fraudulent commandeering of Ireland’s police and defence forces.
Ireland Says No (comprising activists from groups around Ireland) will be meeting from 8.30 am on both mornings at the riverside of the National Conference Centre. We plan to carry out acts of peaceful civil disobedience throughout the city. Our aim is not to cause disruption to the public but to implore the international media to look beyond the confines of the EPP conference, past the limousines and high-end suits, to the Irish people faintly visible on the horizon. We will be carrying out acts of civil disobedience throughout the 48 hours. If you cannot make it for 8.30am, keep posted on our activities and whereabouts through social media…….
