New Jersey Police: We Have A Union & Want Walmart Workers To Also

WalMart Arrests, with Workers Organizing

Great Photos Below of the “Secaucus 13” under arrest

I took a shitload of photos on Black Friday at WalMart, documenting the WalMart Workers struggle for a LIVING WAGE, and DIGNITY.

Thirteen of us got arrested in Secaucus.

The United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Union co-ordinated hundreds of job actions, across the Nation, today, resulting in over 110 arrests. Each major city & their UFCW Local had a number of FIRED WalMart workers, and some workers who were willing to risk getting fired, for discussing Collective Bargaining, real Health Care, an eventual pension, a Living Wage, Dignity & Respect, and a Grievance Procedure. In other words, a secure path to a decent living. Something the Walton Family Billionaires refuse to consider.

There’s an ah ha moment, an epiphany sorta moment, that helps an oppressed worker to realize “YOU are NOT ALONE”. Secaucus cops processed & released us arrestees, really fast.  They told us that they had a union and wanted their Brothers and Sisters at WalMart to have one too.

We had BIG FUN, supporting our Sisters & Brothers courageous stand for COLLECTIVE BARGAINING Rights, a LIVING WAGE, Health & Welfare Benefits and ALL the goodies that our exploited WalMart Wage Slaves deserve. Glad to do what we can for ALL our potential ALLIES.

Civil Disobedience/Civil Resistance to publicize the plight of 10’s of thousands of WalMart wage slaves, across the planet, is truly worth it, because when beat down workers see this collective support, they are encouraged to do what has to be done to get what they deserve.

The photo array of the Secaucus, NJ protest includes some priceless photos of the “Secaucus 13” under arrest.  The photos were all taken by Bill Perry, one of those arrested, except for a few where other photographers are given credit.
