July 10, 2014, Mary Ann Grady-Flores, a grandmother from Ithaca, NY, is liable to be sentenced to up to one year in prison for violating an order of protection granted by judges in DeWitt, NY, to shield drone operators at Hancock Air Base against non-violent protesters. Mary Ann’s family, friends and fellow protesters are urging a massive turnout in support at her sentencing, and they sent out this gracious invitation this morning:
Please join us for a 2 pm lunch on the afternoon of July 10 at the Syracuse Peace Council, 2013 E. Genesee St., Syracuse, as we gather to support Mary Ann Grady-Flores. At a jury trial in May of this year Mary Ann was found not guilty of disorderly conduct and guilty of violating an order of protection (OOP)
Mary Ann faces sentencing by Judge (David) Gideon at court that evening (court opens at 5 pm) She can receive a sentence of up to one year in jail. (The address of the DeWitt Town Court is 5400 Butternut Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057.)
