Join our party to celebrate the end of the Oil Machine, and the coming of a new world, all summer long, on the Keystone XL Pipeline route.
This July, August, and September, Party on the Pipeline will travel to hotspots along the Keystone XL Pipeline: from Montana down to the Gulf of Mexico, traveling through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
We do this because we oppose the tragic ecological devastation that the pipeline’s construction and operation will cause, and because we stand for more sustainable alternatives like permaculture, green energy, and natural building.
With our partner, Love Bomb Seed Bomb, we will be throwing seed balls along the way to plant a different vibration along the Keystone XL Pipeline, aiming to create a “Corridor of Life” for bees, butterflies, and humans. Participants will learn about seeds, seed balls, and how to gather and save seeds in their bioregions. We will also be building community gardens wherever possible, in order to expand local food supplies.
Along the way, we will serve communities who are resisting the Keystone XL Pipeline by meeting up with Moccasins on the Ground in South Dakota, Farmers Unions in Kansas, Bold Nebraska in Nebraska, Great Plains Tar Sands Resistance in Oklahoma, and Tar Sands Blockade in Texas. Throughout the summer we will be traveling so we may support these causes and create relationships between the communities along the Keystone XL Pipeline path.
At current, we are also coordinating with #Fearless Summer to help co-create a larger, collective movement to teach about oil-spills, climate collapse, and the potential harm this causes to communities; we will provide service projects, networking opportunities, and workshops along the Keystone XL Pipeline. For instance, current workshops include hands-on training with gardening, alternative health, carpentry, sewing, herbalism, cooking, street medicine, community organizing, social media, meeting facilitation, permaculture, community empowerment, and more.
This is a mobile community. We have purchased a school bus that will act as a mobile media center, living quarters, office, kitchen, seed library, wellness center, apothecary, and garden shed. A group of 10+ dedicated core members will travel in and work out of this bus throughout the summer.
At current we are in need of donations to convert our bus to run on vegetable oil and to buy a digital camcorder to film the stories of the communities who are most closely affected by the Keystone XL Pipeline. Our bus has already been built with solar panels and water catchment, making us a mobile sustainable infrastructure exhibit, but we still need some money to finish paying off the panels.
Party on the Pipeline is joined on this pilgrimage by Love Bomb Seed Bomb, the People’s Garden, the Harvest Collective, Permatecture Design, Compassionate Earth Walk, and Occupy the Keystone XL Pipeline.
The only path to an abundant future is to build a new world as we transcend and transform the old. By seed-balling, educating, and organizing, Party on the Pipeline seeks to help the greater environmental movement evolve and grow — for tomorrow’s children, our cousins the animals, and our Mother the Earth.
“We cannot change the past until we create some new version of the thing that went wrong, and this time awaken to more choice in the matter.”
