Walking 400 Miles To Get Money Out Of Politics

Meet Rhana Bazzini. She is 81 years old and was inspired by Granny D’s walk across the country for campaign finance reform. Rhana decided to walk across the Sunshine State from Sarasota to Tallahassee, talking and listening to folks along to the way. She is promoting campaign finance reform, and declaring

Corporations are NOT People & Money is NOT Speech

Jim Hightower entertained us all at the kickoff event on Sunday.

Arlene Sweeting waxed eloquent on the subject of how we are losing our democracy to the influx of corporate money in our political system.

But if you want to hear what Rhana herself has to say and you are in Florida, come walk with her or join her at a potluck. Tuesday (Oct. 14) she walks through Bradenton.  Here’s her schedule –

8:30am   Leave Ringling Museum
12:30pm State College of Florida, 5840 26th St W. Bradenton
5:30pm   Potluck Manatee UU Fellowship

And on Wednesday (Oct. 15), she keeps moving through Manatee County –

10am    Leave Manatee UU Fellowship
1pm      Sutton Park, 6th St W. & 10th Ave W, Palmetto
3:30pm Kayak/canoe from Emerson Point; send Rhana on to St. Pete

If you want to walk or break bread with Rhana further north on her journey to Tallahassee, you can find out where she will be on her Facebook page
