The Gill Tract Community Farm is flourishing!
A 1.5 acre UC/Community collaborative pilot project is flourishing and growing on the Gill Tract. A recent blitz of love and energy from the Permaculture Action Tour brought over 300 farmers to install a medicinal garden mandala and permaculture beds.Check out this blog for a peek into that day.
The fight for all 20 Acres continues!
The Cal Progressive Coalition (CPC) and Students for Engaged and Active Learning (SEAL) recently staged a sit-in on the 50th anniversary of the Free Speech Movement. After 6 hours of occupying the A&E building, which houses UC Berkeley’s Capital Projects, the administration granted some of our demands. On Friday Nov 14th, SEAL delegates will be meeting with Chancellor Dirks to present a proposal for a Food Initiative at the Gill Tract Farm. Supporters will rally outside California Hall so that we can learn what happens inside and plan our response. Please RSVP and help publicize this event.
