‘Where Are the Babies?’: Protestors Confront Mitch McConnell at Louisville Restaurant
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell encountered a group of protesters of his own as he departed a Louisville restaurant Saturday. Protestors chanted “vote you out” while hurling questions at the Republican leader.
“Where are the babies, Mitch?” one protestor asked.
A group of Louisville residents, including several @DemSocialistsmembers, had a message for Mitch McConnell as he left a local restaurant today. Powerful people like Mitch deserve no peace while they enable the imprisonment of babies in concentration camps. #AbolishICE pic.twitter.com/ruCXhbnKse

McConnell should have probably anticipated such a confrontation. An “Abolish ICE” rally was taking place downtown just a few miles from Bardstown Road.
Interrupting the meals of President Trump’s allies has become a new tactic for the left. High-profile staffers such as Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kirstjen Nielsen had to abruptly leave their dinner tables last month after they learned they were unwelcome. It was these acts of dissent that sparked a debate on civility in America. Newspapers published editorials that pleaded with progressives to “let Sarah Huckabee Sanders and other public servants eat.” They decried the rise of incivility in public discourse.
McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, Trump’s Transportation Secretary, is all too familiar with these demonstrations. She also faced protestors as she was leaving Georgetown. Chao ordered the group of students to leave her husband alone, while she heard questions about why they were “separating families.”
