A Global Initiative That Brings Activists Together
Sharing Cities Network launched its second annual global #MapJam, a project that brings activists together across the globe by mapping shared resources in cities to help make community assets more visible through grassroots sharing projects, cooperatives, community resources and the commons.
#MapJam, which started mapping shared resources in October and November 2013, will launch on Oct. 13 with a "24-hour mapping round the world across multiple continents and time zones." The annual event in connection with New Economy Week—seven days of action for a more sustainable world—will continue through Oct. 27 to build upon the 50 maps that were created during last year's #MapJam launch.
"Mapping all of the shared resources in your city not only shows that another world is possible—it shows it’s already here!," according to Occupy.com.
