Argentina – Hundreds of blockades around the Latin American country, cutting bridges and routes to the big cities, including Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Chaco, Formosa, were carried on by thousands of workers of the popular economy, people that is desperate by the level of violence that the economical policies unleashes towards the Argentinean inhabitants.

The Confederation of Workers of the Popular Economy (CTEP), Standing Neighbourhoods, the Classist and Combative Current, the 19 and 20 Current of the CTEP, the Dignity Popular Movement, the Popular Front Dario Santillán, To Fight and Resist, Motherland, MULCS, FPDS -National Current- and dozens of others social and popular organizations show to the government, on one hand, the power of mobilization that they have, and on the other hand, that the movement was the preface of a general strike that it is unavoidable. In fact, both CTA (Central of Argentinean Workers), have already set a date, March 30, for the upcoming force measure.

The truth is that during the first hours of the day, roads and access were submerged in people protesting against Macri and his government. At 7 am, militants cutted the centrical roads of Corrientes and Callao. And, from that point on, blockades began multiplying. At Pueyrredón Bridge, point of access to the capital from the south, the police charged against the manifestants throwing tear gas, which reached several leaders of the CTEP. However, they could not overwhelm the multitudinous road block.

The freeway to La Plata also suffered several cuts at various points. At La Matanza, in the rotunda of Llavallol, in Constituyentes Avenue and in certain points of the metropolitan Buenos Aires, the landscape was identical, blockades, popular meals at the sides of the road, mixed feelings of joy and annoyance. Joy because the contact between people cheers up those who are decided to participate in the protests, and annoyance, because of the reason that a women at La Matanza made public; “we have just heard that the deputees just arranged an increament in their salaries to 150.000 pesos, and the rest of the country is starving to death. Macri, you scum, we do not want you any longer”.

At Avellaneda’s bridge, the cut was total and there was also an act in where several social leaders of To Fight and Resist, the Dignity Popular Movement, FPDS and others talked. Even the teachers of ADEMYS that are at strike were there and were also cheered at the shout of “For the workers unity!”.

And last, but not least, also the Workers Pole, Standing Neighbourhoods, and the MST (of Argentina) made cuts at the center of the capital city.
