Demonstration Follows Release of November Report Documenting 1000 Tons of Military Cargo Shipped Weekly from Jersey City Site.

Jersey City, NJ – On Friday, December 5 at 5:30 am over 50 anti-genocide activists picketed the G&B Packing warehouse in Jersey City. According to an explosive report by Progressive International and the Palestinian Youth Movement and an investigative feature by Dropsite News, both released on November 24. The warehouse, located at 1A Colony Road in Jersey City,  processes over 1,000 tons of military cargo shipped by ZIM and Maersk to the Zionist state every week in coordination with its logistics branch and sister company Interglobal Forwarding Services. Demonstrators called for an arms embargo and urged warehouse employees not to handle Israeli military cargo.

“B&G Packing’s Jersey City facility is the largest civilian warehouse in the United States storing weapons shipped to Israel to commit genocide in Gaza – a majority of which are handled and shipped by the United States military and paid for with our tax dollars”, said Naji al-Ali, a Palestinian resident of Edison, NJ.

“As the descendant of a Holocaust victim, I am horrified that U.S. tax-payer funded weapons are being shipped from New Jersey to commit genocide in Palestine, thanks to the votes of AIPAC-funded elected officials like Cory Booker and Rob Menendez, ” added Adam Weissman, a Jewish resident of Teaneck.

The demonstrators protested in front of the Interglobal Forwarding Services and G&B Packing warehouse from 5:15-6:45 AM. They distributed leaflets to workers as they lined up to enter the facility at 6 AM and were greeted by supportive honks and thumbs up. NJ State Police ordered the protesters to move to a patch of grass to the left of the warehouse. From 6:45 until 7:30 AM, protesters conducted a moving picket in front of a warehouse entrance. Participants in the demonstration included members of Veterans for Peace Chapter 10, PAL-Awda NY/NJ, Port Workers and Communities for Palestine, Palestinian Youth Movement, Downtown Berrigan Collective, Veterans for Peace Stu Naismith Chapter 90, Upstate NY Pax Christi, NJ Oust the Warehouse Coalition, Friends of Ben Salmon, as well as autonomous organizers.

The Colony Road warehouse works almost exclusively with the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) to deliver “thousands of MK-84 bomb bodies, HEMTT’s and FMTV’s, armored personnel carrier hulls, artillery vehicles, and 364 tons of highly explosive smokeless powder.”

Ninety-one percent of the exports are moved by sea from the Port of Elizabeth, NJ by shipping giants Maersk and ZIM. The rest are shipped by air at nearby airports including JFK. Almost everything that exits the warehouse is bound for Israel and is thereby in violation of the Leahy Law, the U.S. War Crimes Act, the Geneva Convention Implementation Act, the Arms Export Control Act and the Foreign Assistance Act, which prohibit shipment of materials used to commit war crimes and genocide.

The warehouse is owned by the Grossman family with a principal lead, Benjamin Goodman. The warehouse has an “outstanding reputation”, having won the Cogswell award for Industrial Security from the Department of Defense for good service.

Maersk is a Danish shipping giant and the 2nd largest shipping company in the world, while ZIM is the 10th largest shipping company as well as the 5th largest company in Israel, and is critical to keeping the Israeli economy afloat. Combined, the companies deliver thousands of tons of military weapons weekly that are directly responsible for the mass slaughter of Palestinian children.

A number of arms embargo campaigns across the globe have successfully evicted ZIM from ports, but the mass flow of weapons continue largely unimpeded despite above mentioned campaigns. The most significant shipper of weapons and explosives to Israel remains the federal government itself, via Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point in North Carolina and Dover Airport in Delaware.

On September 16, 2025, the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel released a report confirming that Israel committed genocide beginning on October 7, 2023 until July 31, 2025.
