Getting Out Of The Nonprofit Box

About a year ago, Jim invited me to a group conversation and open house at a place called DC Central Kitchen in southwest DC. I really knew nothing about the place beyond the fact that they had found a great way to recycle waste food from area restaurants into a meals program for the homeless. I figured we would be meeting in a cramped little room next to a noisy commercial kitchen at an area church. But as we used to say in my Texas hometown, au contraire. In 2023, DC Central Kitchen relocated to the Klein Center for Jobs and Justice where its team found themselves with a 36,000 sq. ft. bi-level space hosting a large community kitchen, a training facility, and an urban food hub.

‘Mistaken’ PayPal Email Means Consortium News Is Banned

A PayPal customer service agent on Thursday told Consortium News that an email sent to CN on Tuesday saying steps could be taken to restore the account was a “mistake” and that CN is indeed permanently banned from using its services. The email on Tuesday said: “Access to your account will remain limited until you perform the steps required to lift the limitation.” The steps needed to be taken were never specified. Now PayPal says that information was sent in error and there is nothing Consortium News can do to restore its account. CN is unlikely to want to restore the account after its experience with PayPal. But an attempt to take the steps to reopen it would have yielded the reasons why Consortium News was banned in the first place. PayPal has never given any reasons for its actions.

An Insider Perspective In The Black Lives Matter Global Network Sham

On January 31, 2022, New York magazine published an article by Sean Campbell, “The BLM Mystery: Where did the money go?” A core demand of the article is one that many have made for many years: Show me the money! People have questions. I have a lot of answers. I am a former, and still supportive organizer in a legacy chapter (my own term) of Black Lives Matter - BLM Philly. I represented the chapter in the national network - the place that BLM Global Foundation in its several formations curated. Up until my separation from the chapter in late 2021, BLMGN was the owner/manager/user of the primary website BlackLivesMatter.com, along with the social media and the newsletter.
