Global Days of Listening is active listening to people around the globe conversing about each others paths of action toward a peaceful world. It is inspired by the Afghan Peace Volunteers who invite everyone to listen to the ordinary voices of those whose homeland is occupied with violence. The regularly scheduled Days of Listening are on the 21st of each month – from 6:30 – 10:30 pm Afghanistan time, planning calls by collaborators are on or about the 10th of the month – email us for info. How to call into the conversations: The telephone calls are now managed through Skype. We request that you use your Skype account – the audio connection is much better. We will call to your phone if you will not be using Skype. Your confidentiality is important to us. When you share your Skype ID and or phone number this is kept private and used only for the getting in touch with for GDoL conversations. Kindly email these to: globaldaysoflistening@gmail.com. The call is moderated for everyone’s benefit. Kindly wait to be introduced. The moderator will announce who the next few speakers will be. The Global Days of Listening are recorded so that the listening – and learning – can be shared by others. Previous conversations are available for educational use. The list of speakers will only include your first name, only. It will be posted with your general location. Limited bandwidth in Afghanistan, Iraq and other places makes video-calling impossible. Seeing those with whom we speak will bring us closer. For privacy reasons only first names are used and specific locations are seldom revealed.
