Hamas and other Palestinian factions have called for a day of rage tomorrow after Israel approved the settler Flag March through Jerusalem, local media reported yesterday.
“Our people in Bayt Al-Maqdis who inspired all nations on earth and taught them how to stand up against the occupation, we call on you to undermine the Israeli plans aimed to Judaise Jerusalem and change its identity,” Hamas Spokesman for Jerusalem Mohammad Hamada said in a statement.
Hamas called for the Palestinians to head to Jerusalem to stop the settlers’ Flag March. The Flag March sees far-right Israeli ultra-nationalists flooding through Muslim areas celebrating the capture of East Jerusalem by Zionist occupation forces following a second wave of ethnic cleansing in 1967. Chanting “death to Arabs” and singing racist and highly offensive songs, thousands are seen parading through Muslim areas flying the Israeli flag.
“We call on you to stand up against the Israeli occupation and gather in the Sanctuary Yards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the streets of Jerusalem’s Old City in order to thwart the settlers’ plans,” Hamada said.
“We hope that you turn Tuesday into a day of rage against the Israeli occupation,” he added.
The Follow-up Committee for National and Islamic Factions in Palestine made similar calls, saying: “We call for Palestinians across all Palestinian territories to move towards Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to protect them from the settlers’ aggression.”
