Statement On Zimbabwe Solidarity Day

The All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (A-APRP) stand with Zimbabwe and the countries of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) on this October 25th “SADC Anti-Sanctions Solidarity Day” we commemorate the call for lifting the illegal and immoral imperialist sanctions against the Zimbabwe people. The A-APRP applauds this principled stance by the SADC members. We further call for all justice loving people to join this fight. Zimbabwe’s struggle against sanctions is part of a continental and global fight against sanctions.   The A-APRP reiterates our stance that sanctions are acts of war. They bring undo pain and suffering to the people of Zimbabwe. This year marks 20 years of Sanctions against Zimbabwe for having the audacity to dare redistribute land to the indigenous peoples stolen under colonialism.  Zimbabwe land reclamation process saw more than 4 million hectors returned to more than 145 thousand Zimbabwe families.

The U.S. and British sanctions have cost the working people of Zimbabwe on estimated 42 billion dollars since 2001. These sanctions cause inflation and political unrest. The criminal intent of this imperialist assault is to bring regime change in Zimbabwe and to terrorize Africa and world against fighting for sovereignty and self-determination. The U.S. and their NATO allies are using sanctions and the threat of military force to maintain the control of Africa’s and global resources. Revolutionary Pan-Africanism, African Unity, is our only solution as exemplified by this principled act taken by SADC. We thank-you again for leading this call.
