Several civilian homes have been struck by Israeli warplanes over the last few hours.

Over 180 people have been killed in a massive wave of Israeli airstrikes targeting southern and eastern Lebanon on 23 September.

“These raids have led, until the issuance of this statement, to 182 martyrs and 727 wounded, including children, women and paramedics among the martyrs and wounded,” the Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Monday afternoon. The toll is expected to continue rising.

Israeli airstrikes are also targeting the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon. Hundreds of strikes have taken place in the last few hours.

Several civilian homes have been targeted and destroyed in several villages, including Sohmor in the Bekaa and several areas in the south, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.

“The Israeli enemy continues to intensify its raids on all areas, valleys and outskirts of towns in the western sector [of south Lebanon],” NNA said.

Hezbollah’s military media announced on Monday, as the airstrikes were ongoing, that its fighters targeted “the reserve headquarters of the Northern Corps, the reserve base of the Galilee Division and its logistical warehouses in the Amiad base, and the military industries complexes of the Rafael Company in the Zevulun area north of Haifa with dozens of rockets.”

The Israeli army sent text messages to Lebanese citizens in south Lebanon and the Bekaa on 23 September, telling them to “stay away” from Hezbollah sites.

The messages came as Israel carried out brutal and indiscriminate airstrikes across south Lebanon and the Bekaa on Monday morning.

The targets included Aitaroun, Maroun al-Ras, Al-Bissariyeh outskirts, areas between Roumine and Deir al-Zahrani, Baflieh, areas between Anqoun and Maghdouche, Houla, Majdal Selm, Al-Sultaniyeh, areas between Haboush and Kfarreman, Toura, Aita al-Shaab, Braashit, Harith, areas between Deir Qanoun and Halousiyeh, Khiam, Jibchit, and areas between Ansar and Al-Zarariyeh.

“The Air Force will launch wide and powerful attacks across Lebanon during the early afternoon hours,” an Israeli security source told Yedioth Ahronoth on Monday.

Hezbollah struck deep within Israel early on 22 September, targeting the Ramat David airbase and a Rafael military industry site in the Haifa area. The strike on Rafael was announced as an “initial” response to Israel’s terror attacks against Lebanon last week, which involved the detonation of thousands of communication devices across the country.

The operations were Hezbollah’s deepest strikes into Israel since the 2006 war.

Israel assassinated two top Hezbollah commanders and several fighters in a strike on Beirut on 20 September, which killed several civilians, including women and children.
