February 23, 2019 could be a major day in Venezuela as the US puppet, Juan Guaido, is claiming that humanitarian aid will come into the country no matter what the government of President Maduro does. The article below describes Venezuela closing the border with Brazil as the coup plotters may try to cross Venezuela’s borders with Brazil, Colombia or along the water with so-called humanitarian aid. Venezuela has also closed borders with the ABC islands, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, the overseas territory of the Netherlands.

US puppet Juan Guaido attempted to go to the Colombian border yesterday to heighten tension over the issue of bringing USAID aid into Colombia. Guaido, who is under investigation and not permitted to leave the country, went to the border between the Colombian municipality of Cúcuta and the Venezuelan San Antonio. Both Russia and China have warned against the use of any military force against Venezuela.

Max Blumenthal of the Grayzone Project showed how the supermarkets in Caracas do not lack foods or other goods with a video tour of a Venezuelan market. On Thursday, President Maduro announced the arrival of medical aid from Russia for the strengthening of the public health system. It includes 7.5 tons of medicines: 108,428 units of medicines, surgical equipment and other types of equipment to strengthen the health system. In addition, the  Venezuelan Minister for Nourishment, Luis Medina, indicated that 20,600 boxes were sent to the Colombian municipality of Cúcuta with products from the government program Local Committee for Supply and Production.

The Venezuelan president called for a massive popular mobilization of the Chavista forces, for February 23 throughout the national territory. “Here in Caracas we will have a super mobilization,” Maduro said. In addition there will be international protests on February 23rd. There will be protests throughout the United States and most of the world as can be seen from this map of protests. KZ

Venezuela had already suspended flights and some land borders with Colombia.

Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro announced Thursday the closure of Venezuela’s border with Brazil adding that his government was evaluating the total shutdown of the country’s border with neighboring Colombia amid mounting threats of intervention against the country by the United States and its allies.

“Venezuela closes land border with Brazil on Thursday, February 21st from 8 pm until further notice,” Maduro said during a meeting with the Superior General Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

Venezuelan President Maduro also said that his Colombian counterpart Iván Duque would be responsible for any violence that occurs along the common border. “I hold Ivan Duque responsible for any violence that occurs on the border with Colombia,” the Venezuelan leader said at a meeting with the Superior General Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
