The head of state of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, presided over the closing ceremony of the International Anti-Fascist Youth Congress this Saturday in Caracas.
The event took place during two days with the participation of more than one thousand young people from 72 nations, including the participation of young Palestinians, who also adopted the agreement to build a think tank to form a school based in Venezuela for anti-fascist training to defeat the common enemy of humanity.
The Caracas Declaration was made known during the closing of the International Anti-Fascist Youth Congress by the young Watan Jamil Alabed, a militant of the Palestinian Youth Organization.
Watan Alabed said that the youth have assumed the importance of uniting in this collective and organized struggle to confront and defeat the maximum expression of hatred and violence that has emerged in humanity: fascism, neo-fascism and similar expressions.
He assured that fascism attacks democracy and also strips people of their fundamental rights, while perpetuating inequality, oppression, violence and death.
It is our antagonistic enemy, denounced the young Palestinian, exposing the crimes suffered by his people in the Gaza Strip.
The youth made it clear that fascism, Zionism, patriarchy and other ideologies of domination stem from the same source.
They condemned the imposition of illegal restrictive measures and blockades that endanger the sovereignty of peoples, the presence of NATO bases in numerous territories, hate speech and other expressions spread by imperialism, and Israel’s genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people.
The Congress urged the creation of a chapter dedicated to youth and students would strengthen critical thinking with the intention of joining the Anti-Fascist International.
They also called to defend the environment and help the preservation of the human species, always being aware that environmental depredation is a consequence of imperialism.
