He asked to guarantee the mobilization of 4 million militiamen to condemn Antonio Ledezma’s call for violence.
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the activation of the Peace Squads throughout the national territory to guarantee that “fascism does not impose the agenda of violence in the country.”
The head of state referred to the coup declarations of the former mayor of Caracas, Antonio Ledezma, who from abroad called for military intervention and a new coup against the Bolivarian government.
“With these statements, Antonio Ledezma and all those who support him are exposed,” said the national president while calling on the people of Venezuela to defend peace, sovereignty and internal unity.
“I spoke with Diosdado Cabello and asked him to guarantee the maximum mobilization of the popular forces. I have given the order to activate the peace squads. Peace Squads, alert, to the streets, activated, to guarantee peace throughout the country,” said the president in his “Con Maduro +” program.
In this sense, he emphasized that more than 4 million militiamen and militiamen have been activated in the anti-coup plan to guarantee peace, “so that there will never be a guarimba again,” requested the head of state.
He reflected that the announcement made by Antonio Ledezma, a fugitive from justice and with an arrest and extradition order ordered by the Attorney General of the Republic, corresponds to the modus operandi that the right has previously made.
In this sense, he recalled that they announced the coup against Commander Chávez in 2002, then they announced “La Salida” in 2014 and in 2017 the guarimbas. “How much damage did they do until we defeated them with the constituent!” he said.
He also recalled that in 2019, when the fugitive from justice Juan Guaidó was sworn in, “everyone (the opposition sectors) came out to support him, but peace triumphed.”
