Note: A good deal of this article focuses on the role of Ecuador’s President Lenin Moreno. On February 20, 2019, Moreno announced that Ecuador will receive US$10.2 billion in international loans, which would interest rates of less than 5 percent and could be paid in terms of up to 30 years. At this stage, this is only a staff level agreement and more steps are required for Ecuador to receive the loans.
If the loan is finalized, Ecuador would receive US$6 billion from the World Bank (WB), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), the European Investment Bank (EIB), Latin American Reserve Fund (FLAR), and the French Development Agency (AFD). For its part, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would grant US$4.2 billion.
NODAL is reporting a major scandal over an offshore company linked to Lenin Moreno and his brother. The Citizen Revolution movement in Ecuador is calling for the resignation of Lenin Moreno. In the tweet below former President Rapael Correa calls for people to join protests outside at the Grand Plaza.

This investigation is just beginning, more to come. KZ
Folks, don’t let his administration fool you, the proof is in the pudding and the pudding leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Men like Mike Pompeo, and VP Mike Pence are so guilty of the 8-month torture of Julian Assange it is unreal. Yet, there are those of you who are still in denial and probably still will be after I share the facts.
Julian was gagged on March 28th, 2018 and had no access to the internet, visitors or the telephone. After 15 days, according to the UN Nelson Mandela Act, solitary confinement is considered torture. Ecuador President Lenin Moreno issued this order but let me show how he was coerced by the United States. Now for the proof who was behind it.
Wikileaks has routinely stated that Ecuador was bribed to silence Assange indefinitely as seen in this tweet:
We also know to due to recent news that the US does, in fact, have charges against Assange but are refusing to release what they are. See this article from Associated Press.
“The Justice Department has filed charges under seal against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
That’s according to a person familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because no charges have been publicly announced. It was not clear what the charges were or when they might be made public.
The fact that charges had been prepared was disclosed in an errant court filing in an unrelated case that was recently unsealed and that contained Assange’s name.”
“The prosecutor wrote the charges “would need to remain sealed until Assange is arrested in connection with the charges in the criminal complaint and can therefore no longer evade or avoid arrest and extradition.”
Jeff Sessions in 2017 said he would make the arrest of Julian Assange a priority, with the go-ahead from President Trump. See article in the BBC News dated April 21st, 2017.
“The US attorney general, Jeff Sessions, says arresting Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is a “priority”.
So, now you are asking what Mike Pompeo, current secretary of State, has to do with it right? Let’s go back in time and take a look when he was CIA director what he said about Assange and Wikileaks. In an article from the New York Times seen here, Mike Pompeo said the following:
“WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service,” Mr. Pompeo said.
But Mr. Pompeo’s harshest words were reserved for Julian Assange, calling the WikiLeaks founder a “narcissist” and “a fraud — a coward hiding behind a screen.”
Later, Pompeo met with Ecuador’s Foreign Minister Valencia after the silencing of Assange as seen here. What do you suppose they talked about? Then there was the infamous meeting between Paul Manafort and President Lenin Moreno negotiating the turn over of Assange to the U.S. as reported by CNBC. See below:
“President Donald Trump’s former campaign chief, Paul Manafort, tried to negotiate an agreement for the government of Ecuador to hand over Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to the U.S, the New York Times reported.
Vice President Mike Pence also met with Moreno and spoke of Assange according to the Washington Times Article.
“The vice president raised the issue of Mr. Assange. It was a constructive conversation. They agreed to remain in close coordination on potential next steps going forward,” a White House official said in a statement issued following Thursday’s meeting with Mr. Moreno, The Washington Examiner first reported.”
Just interesting how this plays out. According to some, Ecuador inevitably fell to the pressure of the US and then after a UN visit, returned partial rights to Assange with a draconian rules to prevent him from speaking. We have to ask what Assange knows that these 2 top Trump officials want him permanently silenced. Are they pawns of the Deep State or receiving instructions from the President himself? Only time will tell the truth. In the meantime, join in the fight to free this award-winning, Nobel Peace prize nominee in gaining his freedom from his illegal detainment of 8 years. Julian Assange will have been held without charge for 3000 days on February 23rd, 2019.
