Net Neutralty

Chairman Pai Doubles Down On Open-Internet Repeal

Washington - On Tuesday, Free Press filed a letter with the Federal Communications Commission that responded to the agency’s attempt to fix problems in its order that repealed Net Neutrality rules and tossed away its broadband-oversight authority. The proposal, scheduled for a vote at the FCC next week, responds to the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit that remanded portions of the unpopular repeal to the agency for further consideration. Earlier this month, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai circulated his proposal to address three issues the court of appeals raised in 2019.

Campaign For Net Neutrality Escalates

Call your representative on Thursday and ask them to support the petition to force a vote to restore net neutrality. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has repealed net neutrality, kicking the door wide open for Big Cable companies to block and slow traffic online. But we’re doing what many thought impossible by getting closer and closer to convincing Congress to overturn the FCC. The campaign for net neutrality continues, indeed is escalating over the summer. The coalition for net neutrality, which internet campaign, Protect Our Internet and Popular Resistance are part of, is increasing pressure on the House of Representatives to support a Resolution of Disapproval under the Congressional Review Act. We have passed the resolution in the Senate and are getting closer in the House.
