The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed the creation of a “powerful media network for the truth of the peoples across all continents, with all languages and on all existing social media of today and those that will be born as alternatives.”
He made this proposal on Friday, November 29, at the International Conference in Solidarity with Palestine, held in Caracas. He commented that there is a consensus across the world for “the cause of the struggle for freedom and the right to life of the Palestinian people, and we must do more for Palestine, because still there are many people who are misinformed about the brutal genocide that is being broadcast live.”
“Who controls the media networks and who is behind social media?” President Maduro asked. “In Venezuela, we know that those who control the media and social media are trying to destroy our country and harm the minds of our children. They are hegemonic networks that reach directly through your phone and are personalized, and with the help of artificial intelligence, they organize global campaigns on all sorts of topics.”
He stressed that the elites of the United States and “Israel” want to harm and control the human mind and thus destroy people and their values, by glorifying vices like pornography, drugs, individualism, and normalization of fascism and “the new Hitlers and Mussolinis of today, such as Netanyahu, Milei, Zionism, the fascism of the 21st century.”
President Maduro insisted that initiatives must be taken so that new social media can emerge “in one of the great battles that we are fighting.” He recounted that he has held conversations on this matter with his counterparts from various countries on several occasions, and the latest BRICS summit, which took place in Kazan, Russia, was one such venue.
“We have many tasks, such as increasing investments, trade, food production, education, and technology,” he said. “But I told each of the presidents I met, that we have a great global task, which is to defend our children and our people from being poisoned by Western social media and imperialism… that is trying to form an upside-down world, presenting victims as perpetrators.”
Missiles of the Tel-Aviv gang
In this same vein, President Maduro highlighted how the “Tel Aviv gang” launches missiles and precision bombs on Gaza, “leaving children under the rubble and then presenting Palestinians as the terrorists,” in a war of extermination that has been going on for 76 years and is presented as “self-defense.” “But no one believes them, only Milei from Argentina defends the murderers and their genocides,” he added.
President Maduro emphasized that “no one should believe that the US is interested in peace anywhere in the world, for it is just its diplomacy of deception,” pointing out that the outgoing Biden-Harris administration “creates dialogues and the parties come to them honestly, only to find missiles ready to kill them.”
“This is what they did to Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, that infamous day in Beirut when he was about to meet with his staff and a brave Iranian general who brought a message from the Ayatollah,” President Maduro highlighted. “He was there to sign a peace agreement that the US government had told him was already ready, and they calculated his arrival at a residence where the meeting was going to be held, and launched missiles and assassinated him criminally.”
“Even in the bloodiest wars, the authorities, the leaders of the conflicting parties are respected, and we have many examples in history, but this is not the case with the US,” he continued. “I call on the noble Muslim people, the Arab peoples to be cautious with this diplomacy of deceit, because behind it come the missiles and the criminals, I know this from experience.”
