African Stream

African Stream Is Dead

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, African Stream published its final video, a defiant farewell message. With that, the once-thriving pan-African media outlet confirmed it was shutting down for good. Not because it broke the law. Not because it spread disinformation or incited violence. But because it told the wrong story, one that challenged U.S. power in Africa and resonated too deeply with Black audiences around the world. When Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused it of being a Kremlin front, Big Tech didn’t hesitate, and within hours, the platform was erased from nearly every major social media site.

War Propaganda, State Controlled Media, And The End Of African Stream

Every accusation is a confession when war propaganda is being spread by the state and its minions in corporate media. That adage is especially true when corporate media in the west use the term “state controlled” when they want to make the case for wars of aggression and to discredit those nations they label “adversaries.” If anyone is controlled by the state, it is the networks and major newspapers that can be counted on to march in lock step and repeat every narrative that is used to justify U.S. actions around the world. There is no stronger state control of media than in the United States and the collective west.

The Empire Finds An African Enemy: African Stream In The Crosshairs

On Friday, September 13, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken addressed a press briefing in Washington DC, as he has done many times before. The purpose of the briefing was to announce new measures to counter “Russian propaganda,” a pronouncement that was not out of the ordinary. The US has placed nearly 6,000 sanctions on Russia over the years, making a press briefing to announce the State Department’s latest Russian sanctions a normal and prosaic event. That is, until Blinken got to the main point of his briefing: Last week, our government revealed how RT launders information operations through unwitting Americans to covertly disseminate Kremlin-produced content and messaging to the American public. Today, we’re exposing how Russia deploys similar tactics around the world.

Red And African Stream Latest Media To Face US Bans

After months of unverified claims from German media alleging that Red Media has ties to Moscow and helped incite pro-Palestine demonstrations, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared that the Leftist media outlet is part of a Russian intelligence operation aimed at interfering in foreign elections. Blinken’s statement escalates the accusations, aligning them with broader concerns about foreign influence on democratic processes. At the onset of the Ukraine war, media outlets connected to the Russian state-run Ruptly agency, such as RT, faced widespread bans across Europe and Canada. These restrictions also extended to the United States, where they were forced to stop broadcasting.
