DoD Covered-Up Deaths Of US Special Forces Soldiers In Iranian Strike

The United States government covered up the cause of death of two U.S. military personnel killed in Iranian retaliatory strikes on Ain Al-Asad, a U.S. military base in Western Iraq, in January 2020, following the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by the United States, according to claims made to MintPress News by a source close to the family of the deceased soldiers. On January 3, 2020, then-U.S. President Donald Trump signed off on the ‘targeted assassination’ of General Qassem Soleimani of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ‘s Quds Force, sparking a round of Iranian retaliatory strikes on bases in Iraq that house U.S. military personnel.

Use-It Or Lose-It: DoD Dropped $4.6 Million On Crab And Lobster, And $9,000 On A Chair In Last-Minute Spending Spree

The federal government found a way to spend $97 billion in a single month last year, of which more than $61 billion can be attributed to the Pentagon. It’s not a new phenomenon. In the last month of every fiscal year, federal agencies work to spend all that’s left in their annual budgets. If they don’t, the agencies worry they’ll be appropriated a smaller share by Congress next year, hence the "use-it or lose-it" spending sprees. Rather than spend money on frivolous items, federal agencies like the Defense Department should admit their offices can be run on less, according to Adam Andrzejewski, founder and CEO of OpenTheBooks.

Newsletter: Chelsea Manning v. US War Criminals

By Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers for Popular Resistance. Chelsea Manning saw crimes and exposed them. Her detractors are aware of the crimes and even commit them. Rather than self-evaluation they continue to hide the crimes even though they are in the public and people can read them. For her part, "Manning said Harvard's decision signaled to her that it's a "police state" and it's not possible to engage in political discourse in academic institutions. "'I'm not ashamed of being disinvited,'" she said. "'I view that just as much of an honored distinction as the fellowship itself.'" The so-called Deep State of Security, Intelligence and foreign policy agencies could learn a lot from Manning about shame. Unlike her, they fear people knowing the truth about them, indeed they fear looking in the mirror and seeing the unpatriotic truths about themselves.
