Maduro: “It Is The Venezuelan People Who Govern Here”
At the March 9 “anti-imperialist day” demonstration in Caracas on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Obama decree declaring Venezuela a threat to US security, Maduro addressed the crowd. Among other points he declared that, despite all the attempts at regime change including the latest one in the form of electrical grid sabotage, the elected president is still very much there. His conclusion that this was – and is – made possible because “it is the Venezuelan people who govern here.” Is he right? And if so, how is this possible that Venezuela has been able to defend itself again the most powerful nation on earth?
