What We Know From 28 Saudi Arabia 9/11 Pages

By Charles Pierce for RSN - ...But some investigators remain puzzled by the exact role played by Fahad al-Thumairy, a Saudi consular official based in the Los Angeles area at the time of the attacks. They believe that if there had been any Saudi government role in the plot, it probably would have involved him. Mr. Thumairy was the imam of a mosque visited by two of the Sept. 11 hijackers, and some American government officials have long suspected that Mr. Thumairy assisted the two men—Nawaq Alhamzi and Khalid al-Midhar—after they arrived in Los Angeles in early 2000.

29 Pages: Corruption, Crime And Cover-up Of 9/11

By Kristen Breitweiser for Huffington Post. President Bush did not want the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia investigated. President Bush has deep ties to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its royal family and only wanted to protect the Kingdom. President Bush wanted to go to war in Iraq — not Saudi Arabia. So, 29 full pages that said “Saudi” and “Bandar” instead of “Hussein” and “Iraq” was a huge problem for President Bush. It is well documented that the Joint Inquiry received enormous push-back against its investigation into the Saudis. In fact, former FBI Director Mueller acknowledges that much of the information implicating the Saudis that the Inquiry investigators ultimately uncovered was unknown to him. Why does Mueller say this? Mostly because Mueller and other FBI officials had purposely tried to keep any incriminating information specifically surrounding the Saudis out of the Inquiry’s investigative hands.

Saudi Ties To 9/11 Detailed In Documents Suppressed Since 2002

By Murtaza Hussain for The Intercept - AFTER YEARS OF political wrangling, the suppressed section of a 2002 congressional report that detailed possible ties between the Saudi government and the 9/11 terrorist attacks was released today. The classified documents have been the source of heated speculation for years, as they highlighted alleged links between high-ranking members of the Saudi royal family and the 9/11 hijackers. Many political figures who had previously seen the report led the charge calling for its release, including former Sen. Bob Graham, who said the 28 pages “point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia,”

Release The 28 Pages On Saudi Role In 9/11 Sung To White House

By Richard Ochs for Popular Resistance. For the last two months the 28 Pages Coalition have been holding weekly protests at the White House, US House of Representatives and the Senate in Washington, DC. They have been calling for the release of 28 pages that have been kept secret by both the Bush and Obama administrations. The pages come from a joint committee of the House and Senate that reviewed the 9/11 attacks. Reportedly the pages implicate Saudia Arabia in the attacks. This week members of the 28 Pages Coalition held a banner and signs in front of the White House on Wednesday, June 22 at 5 PM. The banner read: “Open the 28 Pages.” Musicians will accompany protesters in singing “We want to read those 28 pages." As of now, 70 members of Congress are co-sponsoring bills H.R.14 and S-1471 to declassify these redacted pages. Former chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham has called the redaction of the 28 pages part of "an aggressive deception."

Undeterred By Obama’s Veto Threat, Senate Passes 9/11-Saudi Bill

By Lauren McCauley for Common Dreams - Setting up a likely veto fight and opening a potential Pandora's Box, the U.S. Senate on Tuesday passed a bill that allows victims of 9/11 to sue Saudi Arabia for any role the government may have played in the attacks. The bipartisan Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act was approved by unanimous consent, despite protest from President Barack Obama, who threatened to veto the bill. Obama recently argued, "If we open up the possibility that individuals...can routinely start suing other governments

The 9/11 Cover-Up Continues

By Andre Damon for WSWS - Speaking Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” talk show, Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan categorically denied the involvement of Saudi Arabia in the September 11 terror attacks, while demanding that documents pointing to its complicity remain hidden from the American people. Brennan was referring to 28 pages of the joint congressional inquiry report on the attacks, completed in 2002. The section on Saudi involvement has been kept secret for 14 years, despite calls from some sections of the US political establishment for their release.

9/11 Commissioners Split: Saudi’s Involved, Release 28 Pages

By Philip Shenon for The Guardian - A former Republican member of the 9/11 commission, breaking dramatically with the commission’s leaders, said Wednesday he believes there was clear evidence that Saudi government employees were part of a support network for the 9/11 hijackers and that the Obama administration should move quickly to declassify a long-secret congressional report on Saudi ties to the 2001 terrorist attack. The comments by John F Lehman, an investment banker in New York who was Navy secretary in the Reagan administration, signal the first serious public split among the 10 commissioners...

Protests Call For Release Of 28 Pages That Implicate Saudi Arabia

By Kevin Zeese of Popular Resistance. Graham believes that if people understood the role the Saudis played in 9/11 -- essentially as co-conspirators -- it would change the relationship with Saudi Arabia. In a 2015 press conference Graham said “The 28 pages primarily relate to who financed 9/11 and they point a very strong finger at Saudi Arabia as being the principal financier.” The 28 pages can be declassified. The most direct means is for the president to declassify them himself. There is, however, a little-known alternative method by which either the House or Senate can declassify the 28 pages—even over the president’s objection. Some in Congress are pushing to have the pages declassified through H.Res.14 which urges the President to declassify the report. In the Senate, Senate Bill 1471, introduced by Senator Rand Paul and cosponsored by Ron Wyden and Kirsten Gillibrand directs the president to release the pages, rather than urging him to.

Will Obama Release The Secret 28 Pages About 9/11

By Ben Mathis-Lilley for Slate - Sunday night, 60 Minutes ran a segment about ongoing efforts to convince the Obama administration to declassify 28 infamous pages in an otherwise public 2002 congressional report which reportedly document allegations that Saudi Arabian nationals in the U.S. and elsewhere materially supported some of the 9/11 hijackers. The “28 pages” have been controversial since the report in which they were supposed to appear was issued and seem likely to stay in the news this year as the 15thanniversary of the 9/11 attacks coincides with the end of Obama's term in office.

9/11 And The Belligerent Empire

By Empire Files in TeleSur - In September 11th's episode of The Empire Files on TeleSUR, Abby Martin examines the two major wars launched under the "Global War on Terror"--their historical development and their aftermath. Featuring former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, this episode digs into the tragedy of a region shaped by Empire. 9/11 forever defined our generation and ever since the US government has launched a new kind of warfare against the ubiquitous threat of terrorism. The gaping whole of ground zero left for five years served as a perpetual reminder of this dark era. Finally a shiny Freedom Tower was built to commemorate what Americans were told were the values attacked.

An Indigenous Take on #September11

By Gyasi Ross for Indian Country Today Media Network - September 11th wasn’t a surprise, at least not for Native people and many people of color. No, Native people were alreadywell aware of how destructive and evil people could be. How did we know? AMERICA TAUGHT US THAT; really, September 11th was only a surprise for white people and for those who didn’t realize that America had already perpetrated many September 11ths of its own. Native people knew that. We knew that America had a whole bunch of blood on its hands and that there was always a harvest season, always a reckoning. Sir Isaac Newton gave that harvest a name in his Third Law of Motion, that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Oh yeah, that means that there will be more September 11ths as well—it’s inevitable unless America works to acknowledge and reconcile with its many victims of domestic terrorism against its own people.

Post 9/11 Strategy: Invent Terrorists In The US

This study focuses on post-9/11 claims by the U.S. government that it keeps the county safe from terrorism by arresting hundreds of so-called “terrorists” who were about to strike the U.S. until the FBI foiled their plots. In fact, this study shows that there have been remarkably few actual terrorism threats to this country in the last decade. The study shows that the war on terror has been largely a charade designed to make the American public believe that a terrorist army is loose in the U.S., when the truth is that most of the people convicted of terrorismrelated crimes posed no danger to the U.S. and were entrapped by a preventive strategy known as preemptive prosecution. The theme of the study links preemptive prosecution to the metaphor of “lawfare,” the use of the law as a weapon of war, in this case the war on terror.

Is The Real 9/11 Conspiracy Saudi Arabia

Many people turn off their ears and close their eyes when someone brings up a conspiracy around the 9/11 attacks. But, in a four part interview by Paul Jay of The Real News an issue is raised by a mainstream member of the U.S. intelligence committee that deserves investigation. Jay interviews former Florida Senator Bob Graham about his work as the co-chair of the Congressional Joint Inquiry into 9/11 that investigated intelligence failures leading up to 9/11. Senator Graham is very much an insider in the U.S. intelligence community. He served for 10 years on the Senate Intelligence Committee, including as its Chairman. The investigation into 9/11 intelligence failures and the subsequent cover-up of Saudi involvement by the Bush administration led Senator Graham to question his life-long reverence of presidential authority. A major item that has raised questions in Senator Graham's mind is that the inquiry’s final report included a 28-page chapter describing the Saudi connection to 9/11, but it was completely redacted by U.S. intelligence agencies. Reportedly those pages, which even 12 years later have still not been made public, named Saudi government officials who provided the funding for the 9/11 attacks. This, and other facts, leads Senator Graham to describe Saudi Arabia as “essentially a co-conspirator in 9/11..."
