Before His Assassination, JFK Sought Peace With The Soviet Union

We will never know the world that could have been had President John F. Kennedy’s assassination never taken place, but an inkling of how things could have been different can be found in the final months of his life. In his new book, To Move the World: JFK’s Quest for Peace, Jeffrey Sachs unearths JFK’s final political campaign—to establish a secure and lasting peace with the Soviet Union. How far did JFK’s efforts go? What sort of progress was made on ending the Cold War, not through the collapse of the Soviet Union, but rather through mutual cooperation and understanding? To answer these questions and more, Jeffrey Sachs joins The Chris Hedges Report.

Two U.S. Soldiers Overheard JFK Assassination Plans

July 11, 2018 "Information Clearing House" -In November, 2017 President Trump released 35,000 documents the Kennedy assassination that were withheld for half a century. He wanted to release more, but the CIA requested more time. He gave them six months, and, on April 26 of this year another 18,000 documents came forth. The media hardly covered the April release, and, overall, the reporting was cursory at best and pathetic at worst. These documents consummately alter our understanding of the assassination, of Jack Ruby, of Marina Oswald, David Ferrie, Richard Helms, J. Edgar Hoover, and certainly Lyndon Johnson. But let us take a smaller bite from this apple. Introducing Eugene V. Dinkin. Two documents were released about this man in November which caught my attention, and one more appeared in the 2018 release.

JFK Files: CIA Plot to Stage Miami Bombings & Blame Fidel Castro

By Staff for Telesur. The CIA considered bombing Miami and other cities to create a terror threat while blaming the government of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, according to the recently-published "JFK files." The files were published as part of the nearly 3,000 documents collected by the U.S. National Archive on the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy and several other issues. The report said the Central Intelligence Agency, CIA, considered staging several terror events involving Cuban citizens to seek blame for Castro's government. “We could develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington," the files read. The plan also included a possible attack on migrants leaving Cuba to settle in the United States.

JFK Files: Cover-Up Continues of President’s Assassination

By Finian Cunningham for Strategic Culture. The murder of President John F Kennedy 54 years ago has been described as the “crime of the century”. If US and Western news media cannot discuss this seminal event openly and honestly, let alone investigate it, then what does that say about their credibility? Such systematic media denial of reality inflicts irreparable damage to their credibility. How can they be taken seriously on any other matter, whether it is claims of “Russian meddling” or about the war in Syria, or the claims justifying Washington’s aggression towards Iran and North Korea? The astounding media denial over JFK’s assassination is a symptom of the tacit totalitarianism that passes for “Western democracy”. The release this week of secret government papers on the killing of President Kennedy was billed as a day of revelation and reckoning. Closer to the truth is that the shocking murder of Kennedy continues to be covered-up by the US deep state.

Best Speech A U.S. President Ever Gave

By David Swanson for World Beyond War - In planning an upcoming conference and nonviolent action aimed at challenging the institution of war, with the conference to be held at American University, I can’t help but be drawn to the speech a U.S. president gave at American University a little more than 50 years ago. Whether or not you agree with me that this is the best speech ever given by a U.S. president, there should be little dispute that it is the speech most out of step with what anyone will say at either the Republican or the Democratic national convention this year.

Can The People Force The Release Of The JFK Files?

By Jefferson Morley for Amazon Publishing - The CIA’s last assassination-related files might help us answer that question. These files constitute a significant body of material—more than 1,100 files containing up to 50,000 pages of material. As we have seen, these are the files of senior officers implicated in the JFK assassination story. My hunch is that this trove of long-secret intelligence files — if declassified in its entirety — will support the notion that the president was ambushed by enemies within his own government.
