Join Palestinian Workers’ May Day Call To Act Now Against Israeli Genocide

The Labor for Palestine National Network, National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP), and U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN) join the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions-Gaza’s 2025 May Day call* in urging U.S. unions to “go beyond statements and speeches and create real pressure”—including “general strikes and widespread civil disobedience”—against the ongoing bipartisan, U.S.-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza, and to “coordinate efforts with the student movement” against the Trump regime’s domestic assault on Palestine solidarity and on “civil liberties and freedom of expression.”

Human Blockaders Shut Down Holloman Air Force Base

Alamogordo, NM - Holloman (Drone Training) AFB -  Anti-drone activists from across the U.S. shut down the West Gate entrance here at Holloman AFB early Wednesday morning – with one arrest - for nearly an hour in the 3rd annual "week of resistance" to the covert U.S. Drone Warfare Program.  Activists donned signs with names and ages of young Gazan children's killed, and blocked traffic while chanting “15 thousand children killed in Gaza. No drones for genocide.” One protester, Toby Blomé, was arrested after lying down on pavement in front of a stalled car when military police threatened to arrest her.

Palestine Solidarity Protests In Morocco Delay Maersk Ship

Over 1,000 protesters took to the streets of Tangier, Morocco, on April 20, protesting the docking of the ship Nexoe Maersk in the Moroccan port city. This comes the same week that the same ship was delayed at the port of Casablanca for 39 hours due to similar protests. This comes after Moroccan dockworkers issued a call to action to boycott the Nexoe Maersk ship, following reports that the vessel would be carrying military equipment to Israel. Demonstrators in Tangier chanted slogans such as “No genocidal weapons in Moroccan waters” and “the people want the ship banned.” Across the world, organizations in solidarity with Palestine have called for a boycott of Danish shipping giant Maersk for its role in bringing weapons to Israeli forces carrying out genocide in Gaza.

The Chris Hedges Report: Emptying Gaza

Israel, both materially and rhetorically, has made their intent to destroy the Palestinian people clear. One of the most renowned and courageous Middle East scholars, Norman Finkelstein, has assiduously documented the Palestinian plight for decades and he joins host Chris Hedges on this episode of The Chris Hedges Report. Finkelstein and Hedges assess the current state of the genocide in Palestine as well as how the media and the universities have all but abandonded their principles in servitude to the Zionist agenda. Finkelstein makes clear the gravity of Israel’s unprecedented actions: “If you take any metric—number of UN workers killed, number of medics killed, number of journalists killed, proportion of civilians to combatants killed, proportion of children killed, proportion of women and children killed—if you take any metric, Israel for the 21st century is in a class all its own.”

Maldives Bans Entry Of Israeli Tourists ‘In Solidarity’ With Palestine

The Maldives announced on 15 April an immediate ban on the entry of Israelis into the island nation in response to Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. President Mohamed Muizzu ratified the legislation on Tuesday after it was approved by parliament. “The ratification reflects the government's firm stance in response to the continuing atrocities and ongoing acts of genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people,” the president's office said in a statement. “The Maldives reaffirms its resolute solidarity with the Palestinian cause.” The Maldives, a small Islamic republic of 1,192 strategically located coral islets in the Indian Ocean, is a popular luxury tourist destination known for its beaches.

Appalled At Funding Genocide, US Taxpayers Turn To The UN For Redress

Taxpayers Against Genocide (TAG), a nongovernmental grassroots mass movement comprised of more than 2,000 taxpayers who have been protesting their congressional representatives’ votes to fund Israel’s genocide in Gaza, filed an unprecedented report with the UN Human Rights Council on April 7. “We have gone through all the channels open to us in our effort to stop U.S. officials from using our tax dollars to fund genocide. We have called and met with these officials, we have peacefully protested, and we have taken them to federal court. To date, none of this has stopped them,” Seth Donnelly, lead taxpayer plaintiff in the federal lawsuit, told Truthout.

Stop The Genocide Abroad And The Repression At Home

This April 17, we, a collective of academic workers, students, union members, and activists within multiple higher education associations and unions, trade unions, and other organizing spaces, call for a coordinated national direct action in protest of the ongoing genocide abroad and the escalating repression at home. As academic workers and students united with other labor sectors, we aim to take back public places and uplift the right to dissent and the right to collective organizing for liberation. We stand against the neoliberal and colonial logic of higher ed that represses speech and academic freedom in the US and that enables genocide, carceral tactics, and the long-running destruction of education and historical memory in Gaza and throughout Palestine.

Israel Is About To Empty Gaza

Israel is poised to carry out the largest campaign of ethnic cleansing since the end of World War II. Since March 2, it has blocked all food and humanitarian aid into Gaza and cut off electricity, so that the last water desalination plant no longer functions. The Israeli military has seized half of the territory — Gaza is 25 miles long and four to five miles wide — and placed two-thirds of Gaza under displacement orders, rendered “no-go zones,” including the border town of Rafah, which is encircled by Israeli troops. On Friday Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel will “intensify” the war against Hamas and use “all military and civilian pressure, including evacuation of the Gaza population south and implementing United States President [Donald] Trump’s voluntary migration plan for Gaza residents.”

Protest At Travis AFB Against US Weapons For Israeli Genocide

At 7:30 a.m. on April 9, the heavy traffic flow into California’s Travis Air Force Base came to a sudden stop. As they have done numerous times, the “People’s Arms Embargo” blocked the main road into the base. The action this time commemorated the recently deceased long-time peace advocate David Hartsough, one of the co-founders of the Peoples Arms Embargo. With traffic into the base stopped, one angry airman jumped out of his pickup truck and threatened to assault the peaceful protestors. He finally thought better of it and returned to his truck. Other waiting airmen and airwomen were patient and a few indicated support for the protest.

Strike Highlights Palestinian Frustrations With ‘Symbolic’ Protest

Palestinians across the West Bank observed a general strike on Monday protesting the renewed Israeli genocide in Gaza. The strike was observed in all West Bank cities and towns and joined by all civil society bodies. The Palestinian Teachers’ Union announced the halt of all classes, while the Palestinian Bar Association announced that all lawyers and judges were called to abstain from attending court hearings. The “national and Islamic forces,” the coalition of all Palestinian political parties, also called for the general strike. It was observed by all of Palestinian society in the West Bank, including businesses and public transportation.

Israeli Reservists Dismissed Over Protest Letter Demanding End To War

Around 1,000 Israeli reservist soldiers from the air force have signed a letter of protest demanding the prioritization of returning captives from Gaza over the continuation of the war, which they say is being led for personal and political reasons. Ten percent of the signatories are active reservists, while the others are either retired or no longer in service. “We, reserve and former air force personnel, demand the immediate return of the hostages – even if it requires an immediate cessation of hostilities. At this time, the war serves primarily political and personal interests, not security ones,” reads the letter, published in Hebrew media outlets on 10 April.

Youth Demand Line Up Child-Size Body Bags Outside David Lammy’s Door

Two Youth Demand supporters have laid body bags at David Lammy’s door to highlight his role in continuing to facilitate Israel’s genocide in Gaza. The supporters are demanding that the UK government impose a total trade embargo on Israel, and make the super rich and fossil fuel elite pay damages to communities and countries most harmed by fossil fuel burning. At around 11am on Tuesday 8 April, two Youth Demand supporters displayed a sign over the foreign secretary’s hedge which read- ‘Lammy Stop Arming Genocide’. At his door the pair laid child-sized body bags representing the 17,400 children that we know of who have been murdered during Israel’s genocidal rampage since 7 October 2023.

Exterminator Netanyahu In Washington, DC Again

The chief of the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, Exterminator-in-Chief, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu jumped on his plane and jetted from one International Criminal Court denier, authoritarian leader, Victor Orban of Hungary, to another ICC denier in Washington, DC, Donald Trump. Trump is the second U.S. president to give Netanyahu the green light for the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.  Biden was guilty of 17 months of complicity in the Israeli genocide of Gaza, while Trump is 2.5 months and counting.

Craig Murray: This Hell

It is all a part of the same phenomenon. Western governments actively assisting genocide in Gaza; attacks on benefits for the disabled; a deliberate official narrative of Russophobia; rampant Islamophobia boosting the rise of extreme right-wing parties and fueled by government anti-immigrant rhetoric; an incredible accumulation of wealth by the ultra-rich; rampant erosion of freedoms of speech and expression. It is not happenstance that all of this is happening at the same time. It represents a radical shift in Western philosophy. This shift is not simple to trace because anti-intellectualism is an essential part of the new philosophy.
