The Obscenity Of Collective Punishment In Gaza

Maybe you remember an incident like this from your schooldays. Someone in your class has done something wrong, like pass around a caricature of the principal, and the teacher decides to punish the whole class by taking away your recess. Maybe this is done to force the culprit to confess, or to pressure you and your classmates to point the finger. It’s a clever method of drafting students to help police the classroom. Such tactics of collective punishment have fallen out of favor for obvious reasons. They’re unfair. They don’t change behavior. They teach all the wrong lessons and make kids hate school.

Crimes In The West Bank

In 1948, the newly proclaimed Israeli government seized 78% of Palestinian land and expelled more than half of the population (750,00 people) from their villages and towns. This act disregarded United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181 (1947), which called for the termination of the colonial British Mandate and the partition of Palestine into a Palestinian and a Jewish state. This process came to be known as the Nakba (Catastrophe). The Palestinians gathered in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the neighbouring Arab states in the hope that they would soon be able to return to their homes.

‘Gideon’s Chariots’ Aim To Finalize The Genocide

Drunk on impunity, Israel has grandiosely labeled its latest genocidal move “Operation Gideon’s Chariots” wherein, moving from siege to seizure, it plans the bloody conquest, ethnic cleansing and permanent recolonization of Gaza. Israel uses the rhetoric of holy war to justify unholy mass destruction — this, even as many of the Palestinian children who’ve somehow survived their savage 18 months of carnage now slowly starve to death. “We are complicit,” says one angry, grieving doctor. “It is an abomination.” Having gotten away with so many atrocities while the international community looks away, Israel just unveiled the latest escalation of its illegal collective punishment of Gazans by finally declaring out loud, “We are occupying Gaza to stay.”

Trump Waves White Flag, Ends Yemen War In Omani-Mediated Truce

US President Donald Trump announced on 6 May that Washington will put a stop to its illegal war against Yemen, claiming that the Ansarallah-led Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) “don't want to fight anymore.” When pressed by reporters on the terms of the agreement with Sanaa, Trump claimed Yemeni officials “said please don't bomb us anymore.” Asked where he got that information, Trump said, “It doesn't matter where I heard it – a very good source.” Nevertheless, the Omani Foreign Ministry announced later that Muscat successfully brokered a ceasefire agreement between Washington and Sanaa that will see both sides end hostilities.

Shilling For Israel’s Genocide

Anyone who at this point is still prioritising concerns about tackling antisemitism in Britain, the United States or Europe over halting a 19-month genocide in Gaza is secretly in favour of that genocide. They need to be shamed – and urgently. We are long past the time when there can be any doubt that what the International Court of Justice feared 16 months ago was a genocide is actually a genocide. Israel is no longer even shy about admitting it is starving Gaza’s population. It has been expressly blocking all food and water into Gaza for more than two months. We are at the point where even patriotic Israeli scholars who have been desperately trying to ignore that reality are belatedly and reluctantly conceding that Israel’s genocide in Gaza is indisputable.

Yemen Vows ‘Unimaginable’ Response to Israel’s Bombing Campaign

Israeli strikes carried out on the evening of 5 May on Yemen's Hodeidah port and surrounding areas, including a concrete factory near Bajil, injured 56 people and killed one, while damaging 70 percent of the port's five docks and infrastructure, Yemeni sources reported. At least 21 people were injured in the Bajil strike, while the Yemeni Health Ministry later said 35 people were injured and one person killed in the broader Hodeidah attacks. Civilian areas such as Al-Salakhanah and Al-Hawak neighborhoods were also reportedly hit.  Nasruddin Amer, head of Ansarallah's media office, vowed that the group would respond to the Israeli attack and that the strikes would not deter further operations.

Meet Fired Employees Challenging Microsoft’s Complicity In Genocide

Last fall, Microsoft fired software engineer Hossam Nasr and data scientist Abdo Mohamed after they held a vigil for Palestinians killed in Gaza outside the company’s headquarters. Nasr and Mohamed are members of No Azure for Apartheid, a group calling on Microsoft to stop providing its cloud computing to the Israeli military. “As technology workers, we are hyper aware of the fact that our work—especially with the advancement of AI and cloud technologies—has the potential to enable any company and any organization to inflict harm and violate human rights,” reads a petition circulated by the organization.

The International Court Of Justice, Israel And The Gaza Blockade

The murder and starvation of populations in real time, subject to rolling coverage and commentary, is not usually the done thing. These are the sorts of activities kept quiet and secluded in their vicious execution. In the Gaza Strip, these actions are taking place with a confident, almost brazen assuredness. Israel has the means, the weapons and the sheer gumption to do so, and Palestinians in Gaza find themselves with few options for survival. The strategic objectives of the Jewish state, involving, for instance, the elimination of Hamas, have been shown to be nonsensically irrelevant, given that they are unattainable.

Ansarallah Declares Aerial Blockade On Israel

The Yemeni movement Ansarallah declared on Sunday the launch of a comprehensive aerial blockade on Israel in response to the Israeli government’s decision to expand its military operations in Gaza. Ansarallah military spokesperson announced on Sunday that Yemen would focus on targeting Israeli airports—chiefly Ben Gurion Airport—as part of its response strategy. “In response to the Israeli escalation with the decision to expand aggressive operations on Gaza,” the spokesperson said, “the Yemeni Armed Forces announce that they will work to impose a comprehensive air blockade on the Israeli enemy by repeatedly targeting airports, most notably Lod Airport, known in Israel as Ben Gurion Airport.”

I Am In Malta With The Gaza Flotilla Ship ‘Conscience’ Bombed By Israel

I am in Malta with the group ready to board the Gaza flotilla ship "Conscience" which was bombed by Israel yesterday. As one of the organizers of the US Boats to Gaza and the Gaza Freedom Flotilla coalition, we have been working for months to bring activists from 22 countries to board the next ship to challenge the Israeli genocide of Gaza and break the illegal Israeli Siege of Gaza. As an American citizen, and a retired US Army Colonel and a former US diplomat who resigned in opposition to the US war on Iraq in 2003, I have been horrified in the blatant complicity of the United States in providing bombs, weapons and targeting information to the Israeli military.

Trump Is The Symptom, US Imperialism Is The Disease

Popular resistance to the Trump administration’s erratic, anti-people, and dangerous domestic and foreign policies is growing every day as seen with the massive demonstrations held throughout the country on and after April 5. We welcome these protests and the popular demands raised by them, but we must criticize significant flaws that block the political changes we desperately need. Criticism is personalized against President Trump, Elon Musk, and the “billionaires” for actions that have been the hallmark of bipartisan policies for decades.

Ben-Gvir Returns To Israel After A Violent Trip To The US

The Israeli far-right national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has wrapped up his weeklong visit to the United States. The settler leader’s trip drew protests and generated violence, but these developments didn’t stop Ben-Gvir from meeting with Republican lawmakers at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and the U.S. Capitol. Ben-Gvir has previously been convicted of supporting terrorism and inciting anti-Arab racism. Before running for office, he kept a picture of Baruch Goldstein, the Israeli religious extremist who murdered 29 Palestinian people in a Mosque, hanging in his living room.

US And Israel Gangsterism Has Created A Hobbesian International State Of Nature

Eighteen months of genocidal horror in Gaza has finally swept away to the dustbin of history the myth that the West was ever committed to so-called enlightenment ideas of human dignity, the rule of law and human rights. And we say good riddance to this mendacious mythology. Israel’s daily bombardment accompanies the daily horrific imagery of Israeli attacks on schools, hospitals, tent cities and broken and mangled Palestinian children, images that still fail to move public opinion in the U.S. and Europe to demand an end to the slaughter. Why? Because Gaza has finally stripped away the veil of civilization that masked moral contradictions and rationalized barbarism that has always occupied the heart of European civilizational relations with the non-European world.

Join Palestinian Workers’ May Day Call To Act Now Against Israeli Genocide

The Labor for Palestine National Network, National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP), and U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN) join the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions-Gaza’s 2025 May Day call* in urging U.S. unions to “go beyond statements and speeches and create real pressure”—including “general strikes and widespread civil disobedience”—against the ongoing bipartisan, U.S.-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza, and to “coordinate efforts with the student movement” against the Trump regime’s domestic assault on Palestine solidarity and on “civil liberties and freedom of expression.”

Human Blockaders Shut Down Holloman Air Force Base

Alamogordo, NM - Holloman (Drone Training) AFB -  Anti-drone activists from across the U.S. shut down the West Gate entrance here at Holloman AFB early Wednesday morning – with one arrest - for nearly an hour in the 3rd annual "week of resistance" to the covert U.S. Drone Warfare Program.  Activists donned signs with names and ages of young Gazan children's killed, and blocked traffic while chanting “15 thousand children killed in Gaza. No drones for genocide.” One protester, Toby Blomé, was arrested after lying down on pavement in front of a stalled car when military police threatened to arrest her.
