Mass Deportation

Essentials For Fighting ICE

Since Donald Trump’ s inauguration, ICE has ramped up aggressive attempts to abduct and deport community members across the country. ICE’s tactics and strategies aren’t new. It’s important to remember that every president (yes, even Barack Obama & Joe Biden) and congress has increased ICE’s budget since its creation in 2003. ICE threatening more and more people has always been a logical conclusion of its existence. ICE must be abolished. Trump’s current “Border Czar” Tom Homan (a West Carthage, New York native who began his career as a West Carthage Police Officer) was first appointed to an executive director position with ICE in 2013 by Obama. Obama gave Homan a Presidential Rank Award as a “Distinguished Executive” after Homan began arguing children should be separated from their parents in immigration custody.

Trump Targets Latino Migrants: Ideology Over Humanity

The importance of Latinos living and working in the US is enormous: if they were in a separate country, it would be the world’s fifth largest economy, bigger than even India. President Trump is recklessly attacking Latino migrants, inflicting calculated cruelty and disregarding the consequences for their home countries. Disastrously, US immigration policy affects the very victims of Washington’s destabilization campaigns in Latin America and Caribbean, which drive people to leave their homelands in the first place. In effect, by exporting chaos, the hegemon paradoxically ends up importing immigrants.

Veterans And Allies Come Together At A Critical Moment In History

After six years apart due to the COVID-19 pandemic, military veterans and peace activists from around the world will gather in-person once again for the Veterans For Peace National Convention, held July 24–27, 2025, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The hybrid event also offers virtual access for attendees worldwide. Veterans For Peace, a national organization of former service members committed to ending war and militarism, will host workshops, speakers, and strategy sessions focused on peacebuilding, climate justice, and veterans' advocacy—including issues like demilitarizing police, returning deported veterans, confronting mass deportation, and ending U.S. involvement in Gaza and Ukraine.

Massive Expansion Of Deportation Machine Passes With Little Press Notice

And so it has come to pass: US President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” has set the stage for tax cuts for the rich, slashed services for the poor, and a host of other things that qualify as “beautiful” in the present dystopia. Some cuts, like those to Medicaid, have been heavily covered by the corporate media. But one key piece of the bill has gotten much less media scrutiny: The preposterous sum of $175 billion has been allocated to fund Trump’s signature mass deportation campaign, which, as a Salon article (7/3/25) points out, exceeds the military budget for every single country in the world aside from the US and China.

Who Are The Real Terrorists?

Who are the real terrorists?  That is one of the important questions we all need to be asking ourselves.  It is a big challenge to write about this because every day there is a new deportation-related atrocity.  Now the deportation problem is active even in peaceful Hawai`i, where I live, and the picture is hideous and cruel.  The vicious effects of alarming, illegal, and lethal behavior by government agencies and departments, from the local to the federal level, are plain to see in this state, just as they are plain to see in almost every state.  It is an ugly picture that we, the people, cannot allow.  It is a reign of terror.

Campaign Against Deportation Flights Shows How To Target Companies

On the surface, the pro-immigrant activists who took to the streets in Connecticut last month looked like every other recent march against Trump’s deportation machine: a multiracial crowd of all ages carrying witty signs and chanting. Their target was the commercial airline Avelo, which has proposed operating as an ICE subcontractor to carry out deportation flights. What made this protest different, however, is what happened next: The group New Haven Immigrants Coalition and its allies went beyond protesting to directly attacking Avelo’s key “pillars of support” in Connecticut. Like any public company, Avelo is effectively a Jenga tower — if several key pillars upholding the company are removed, the tower falls.

Abrego Garcia’s Wrongful Deportation Case More About Individual Rights Than Trump’s Foreign Policy

Trump administration officials have repeatedly claimed that judges who order the administration to take action to bring deported Venezuelans back from the El Salvador prison where the U.S. sent them are meddling in the conduct of foreign policy. “The foreign policy of the United States is conducted by President Donald J. Trump − not by a court − and no court in the United States has a right to conduct the foreign policy of the United States,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on April 14. His comments refer to cases including that of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old Salvadoran man who was deported to El Salvador on March 15, 2025, without any due process.

Trump’s Deportation Drive Stalls; Is Prince’s Private Army On The Table?

Former CEO of Blackwater Erik Prince’s plan to create a privately run force to aid the Trump administration’s mass deportation efforts is gaining renewed steam. First reported by Politico, A 26-page document details the proposal, which seeks $25 billion to establish a force capable of deporting 600,000 people monthly. The plan, which includes deputizing at least 10,000 private citizens, would be central to achieving Trump’s stated goal of removing 12 million undocumented immigrants. With Trump’s deportation agenda ramping up, new reports indicate the administration is looking for ways to overcome logistical hurdles that are slowing removals.

Mass Deportation As Ethnic Cleansing: On The Ongoing War

The Trump raids have begun . In many ways, nothing is new. Despite liberals’ best attempts at depicting Trump’s policy as qualitatively different, what we are witnessing is merely an intensification of the bipartisan U.S. deportation regime. In other words, “mass deportation” chants might be new, but mass deportations aren’t. During his first term in office, Trump deported fewer people than all previous three administrations. Later, Biden deported twice as many people as Trump. The only thing that substantively changes under the latter is the visibility of these processes. In short, liberals now care. Time for new photo-ops and selective outrage—if that.
