Venezuelans March Against US Embargo In Enormous #NoMoreTrump Protest

Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans responded to Trump’s executive order by flooding the streets of the capital, Caracas. They protested the crippling US blockade with the slogans “No more Trump!” (No más Trump!) and “Trump unblock Venezuela!” On August 10, Venezuela and solidarity groups around the world held a joint protest against the embargo. The demonstration was gigantic — one of the largest I have attended in my life. If you stood in place and watched the march go by, you could witness rows and rows of demonstrators proceed for possibly an hour.

The Plot To Overthrow Venezuela

The Plot to Overthrow Venezuela: How the US is Orchestrating a Coup for Oil, as the title suggests, focuses on the horrors inflicted by the U.S. government on Venezuela. This thorough, extremely well-researched, and fully supported exposé covers the current crises in and about Venezuela, intentionally and purposefully instigated by the U.S. to overthrow its current government and plunder the country’s rich oil reserves. Just as importantly it offers rich and revealing historical accounts of America’s past dealings with Venezuela and almost identical scenarios with other Latin American nations, detailing the darkness and corruption that lies at the heart of U.S. foreign policy, and how that has cast a pall of oppression over the entirety of South and Central America...

Venezuela Building Socialism In The Midst Of A War: Report from The Left Forum

Rodríguez was only nine years old when Hugo Chávez was elected president of Venezuela in 1998 and initiated the Bolivarian Revolution. Based on her activism, this millennial explained to a mostly seasoned audience at the Left Forum in Brooklyn, New York, on June 29: “The road to socialism is not a flat road. It is a road with many obstacles. But the direction of our government has been clearly towards socialism. The Venezuelan constitution has shown the way. It is not easy to make a revolution the democratic way in the context of globalization and international warfare” from the U.S.

Trump Offers Talks to Iran… Down Barrel Of Gun

US President Donald Trump again reiterated an offer of talks to Iran this week as the two countries teeter on the brink of war. Trump says he is open to dialogue with Iranian leaders – in spite of his repeated threats to bomb the country, and his earlier labelling of the Islamic Republic as a “terrorist regime”. Then Trump later this week flipped (yet again), warning he would use “overwhelming force” if Iran attacked US interests. “A war with Iran wouldn’t last long,” asserted Trump, suggesting, menacingly, he was contemplating using weapons of mass destruction. What else could such overweening confidence of rapid victory suggest? Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the aggressive, “mentally retarded” rhetoric showed Trump’s offer of talks was a lie.

Brutal US-Colombian-Israeli Coup And Massacre Foiled By Venezuela’s SEBIN

This article describes a new stage in the escalation of the consistently failing US coup attempts in Venezuela. Every coup attempt has failed thus far but the US is not giving up. This most recent coup attempt involving the US, Colombia, and Israel would have been a bloody massacre of civilians and government leaders. They intended to kill President Maduro and his wife, the President of National Constituent Assembly Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, generals, leaders of social movements and civilians. The 14-month investigation that uncovered and stopped this coup is another coup failure by the US but it shows how violent the US is willing to become to take over the Venezuelan government

Embassy Protectors Defense Committee Forms, Urges Support For Embassy Protectors

The Embassy Protectors Defense Committee finds it imperative to organize and carry out an effective national campaign in support of the Embassy Protectors in the following three areas: To organize a nationwide fundraising campaign to raise the necessary funds to cover the legal expenses for the four Embassy Protectors. This will require soliciting active participation of all peace and justice organizations in the United States in a nationally coordinated fundraising campaign. This fundraising campaign is especially crucial as the US government has virtually unlimited resources to prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law.

Trump Does Not Want To Get Too Involved With Venezuela

The U.S. President tacitly acknowledged the failure of the actions aimed at destabilizing Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro. In a tacit reference to an eventual U.S. military action against Venezuela, President Donald Trump said Saturday that he does not want to get too involved in the Latin American country, although he also held that his tactics could "change at any time." In a press conference held at the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, Trump confessed that he had spoken about Venezuela "with almost every leader" with whom he met this week.

As Conflict With Iran Escalates, Path To Peace Can Be Found

The recent escalation of conflict between the United States and Iran threaten another US military quagmire that creates crisis and chaos in Iran, the region and perhaps, globally as well as costs trillions of dollars in US spending. The US needs to change course -- a deeply wrong course it has been on regarding Iran since the 1950s, escalating since Iran declared its independence in their 1979 Revolution. There is a path out of the Iran quagmire, but it requires leadership from President Trump, which will only come if the people of the United States mobilize to demand it.

The Attack On Venezuelan Embassies, A Strategy Of US Regime Change

The video below, Venezuela: Diplomacy Under Siege, is a well-researched documentary on the attacks of coup plotters on Venezuelan embassies and how this has been a strategy used in US coup attempts around the world. The video explains a perspective that is relevant to the siege at the Venezuela Embassy in Washington, DC by putting it in the context of a strategy being used by US coup plotters and their violent allies. The attack on the embassy in Washington, DC is part of a strategy being used in multiple countries by the coup plotters of trying to take over embassies. The Embassy Protection Collective, which Popular Resistance helped to organize, is included at the end of the video.

Protection Of Venezuelan Embassy Continues, Opposition To US Coup Builds

We along with numerous other organizations are organizing toward a national mass mobilization in New York City on September 21 when the United Nations General Assembly is meeting. We are calling it "The People's Mobilization to Stop the US War Machine." It will bring tens of thousands of people together to call for the end of the US coup against Venezuela and stop regime change operations anywhere in the world. It will also oppose unilateral coercive mentions (sanctions), which the US is using against many countries and that violate the UN Charter and other international laws.

The Assault On The Venezuelan Embassy

Events that transpired Thursday at the Venezuelan embassy in the upscale Washington neighborhood of Georgetown expressed in microcosm the criminality and contempt for international law that characterizes US imperialist operations the world over. US Secret Service agents, Washington’s Metropolitan Police and agents of the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service, hundreds of armed men, stormed the building to evict four peaceful antiwar activists, part of a larger contingent that had been staying in the embassy for the last month at the invitation of the Venezuelan government.

Activists To ‘Escalate’ Opposition To Trump Policies Toward Venezuela, Iran

Activists opposed to the Trump administration’s plans to overthrow the Venezuelan government returned to the Venezuelan embassy Saturday afternoon to express their support for the group of people known as the Embassy Protection Collective, four of whom were arrested Thursday by U.S. police agents who entered the embassy without the permission of the government of Venezuela. One day after their release from jail, the four collective members were among the nearly 200 people who rallied and marched to the White House. Margaret Flowers and Kevin Zeese of activist group Popular Resistance, academic Adrienne Pine and Code Pink member David Paul were released from jail Friday afternoon after appearing in federal court on a misdemeanor charge of interfering with State Department diplomatic protective functions.

Anti-War Voices On Both Sides Warn Of Coming CIA Provocation To Kill Guaidó, Blame Maduro

With López still unable to directly maneuver in the streets, Guaidó’s continued freedom of movement may continue to make him a valuable asset to the current efforts to overthrow Venezuela’s Chavista-led government. However, with Guaidó rapidly losing momentum and credibility after Tuesday’s failed coup, López and his U.S. backers may turn on their own if they think it will benefit or energize their cause or if it could be used to set the stage for foreign military intervention. Though it may seem extreme, the U.S. — and the CIA in particular — have turned on their assets in Latin America before, with former Panamanian dictator and long-time CIA asset Manuel Noriega being as good an example as any. Furthermore, the U.S. has often been led into wars by “false flag” provocations, such as the now infamous Gulf of Tonkin incident, which led to increased U.S. intervention in Vietnam.

Venezuela: A Dangerous Moment

The comic strip of a coup d’etat in Caracas on April 30 deflated itself with the sunset that same day. No military action was required against it. In fact, most of rebel soldiers who had been tricked to be there at daybreak, realizing they were being used for a coup, talked to their commanders and went back to their barracks by midday. The event should not be underestimated though, since it could have led to a confrontation among soldiers and a bloodshed if opposition soldiers attended massively to the place proposed by self-proclaimed president Juan Guaido. That was the objective that he had planned with Leopoldo Lopez -who was put under house arrest in July 2017 for inciting violence at the 2014 opposition protests and had just broken his house arrest-, both of them are members of Voluntad Popular party, well known due to its terrorist credentials.  This just reaffirms not only a rejection to democracy but also the criminal nature, homicidal vocation, unscrupulousness in most of the Venezuelan opposition.

I Was Arrested For Sharing Bread

As part of the Embassy Protection Collective, I've been staying inside the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington D.C. to protect it from takeover by Trump's coup collaborators. On Thursday, I came out to replenish food supplies, but was arrested as I tried to get the bread, salad greens, and other food back inside. Right-wing pro-Guaidó/Trump supporters blocked the doors. Rather than helping me get food to people legally inside the embassy, the police arrested me. I am charged with "throwing missiles." I am not kidding. A U.S.-backed coup in Venezuela would only serve the interests of the U.S. and Venezuelan elite who stand to profit by taking over a country with the largest oil reserves in the world. We must prevent unnecessary bloodshed and suffering in Venezuela.
